Prescott has nothing to prove anymore, he won, he beat Jerry Jones at his own game and he's flipping off all the Cowboys fans laughing his silly ass off. The players and Jerry deserve it all, you bunch of dumb mother fuckers, you've become the laughing stock of the NFL with no leaders on the field, coaching staff or the front office

Disagree on the bolded statement. In Jerry's mind he truly believes HE won that, because he believes Prescott is THAT good.

This is a very interesting take that I have not heard before. I'm not an MD, so I did some quick research. Dak has/had a "partial tendon avulsion in his hamstring".
Apparently, any sudden movement or twist could potentially exacerbate the injury and lead to a more serious problem. This could lead to a complete tear of the tendon, requiring more extensive surgery and a longer recovery time.
And that could lead to chronic pain and discomfort, even after healing.
And that could lead to impacting Dak's throwing mechanics, leading to decreased accuracy and power (which at times are not the best as it is already)
Given that Dak is "the franchise" (I am talking about how much he earns, not how good he plays), I wouldn't be surprised if Jerry Jones wanted him to have the surgery.

If Dak Prescott does not immediately (after the season) restructure (not even renegotiate) his contract for 2025 then Dak is the greediest player in the NFL.
He cannot expect to take up 33 percent of the cap (even if it naturally goes down to 28 percent or 25, as the cap goes up) and still expect to win the SB. So much would need to break the Cowboys' way. That's a huge percentage of the cap that would tie any GM's hands.
Dak should probably not be making more than 10 percent of the cap, and that is being generous. He needs to do it immediately after the season so that Jerry knows what he is working with. My hope is that there is a handshake agreement that such will be the case.

By the way, I'm not defending Jerry Jones, but a variable that Jimmy might have left out is that Dak could not be franchised, so Dak could have entered free agency and forced a bidding war and chosen to leave because I don't think there is any right of first refusal if the player is not franchised tagged.
So unlike Broaddus, I put the blame on Dak for not being accommodating and not realizing that he would be rich either way and even richer if he got a ring.
So a scenario could of emerged in which Dak plays well and leaves for the highest bidder. Then we would be picking between, say, 20 and 28 and once again Dak would hold all the cards.
So Jimmy is suggesting that Jerry could have waited and then extended Dak, but we need to remember that Dak could have left regardless and then we'd be in a bad draft position to even try for a QB. We'd have to sign Sam Darnold or something.
Anyway, I agree with Jimmy. I was thinking the same thing. But Dak did have leverage, so it was tough. The real mistake was agreeing to a no trade and no franchise clause. It put Dak in the driver's seat.

He covered that diplomatically in what he said. (He's not going anywhere) He's saying there would be no bidding war. Prescott wasn't going anywhere. And if he did that would be fine.
