Is that Denver can plug in a hardly-throwing QB and reel off 6 straight wins.

They have no #1 WR!!

Simple answer is that John Fox can get his team to play for him, Garrett cannot.

..and as usual, the simple answer isn't the right one.

Huge difference between being a mindless CZ sheep and being level headed.

Still a reactionary first grade temper tantrum. We had a 4 game win streak, and have lost two. It's not out of the realm of possibility that we win the next 3. If anything, Denver has proven that any team can get hot, just like the aforementioned Green Bay team did last year.

3 games left so yeah, it's in the realm of possibilities. And hey, look at GB last year. Welcome to the zone...

I think the coaching at Denver has been much better than what we have here. They had to redesign an entire playbook based off something that's never even been done in the NFL after the year 1912, and they've pulled it off well. They'll probably get shat on by a team like the Pats, but they've done enough to likely win that division, which is an impressive feat.

Pep still deuced on Sacamano's face in this thread though.

Can the team make the playoffs? Yeah.

Can the team go on a 2010 GB run? Not a snowballs chance in hell.

The team is lacking in too many areas. It seems to me that it's closer to a Campo coached squad than anything else. Way too much inconsistency.

I agree that the way we're playing right now won't give us a chance IF we make the playoffs. If we keep playing like this, we won't make the playoffs anyway. Philly will come into Jerryworld and defecate on the star.

Another zone jab? And after Bob used it too... impressive.

There are different kinds of fans guys. There are optimists and pessimists, homers and chicken littles. There are some in between. I was fucking pissed the past two games at the end. I posted in here about Garrett and Ryan blowing two wins. I was pretty pessimistic last night. But I have too much to stress about to be dreading Sundays. I look forward every week to watching the Boys suit up, probably because it's an escape from real life.

And you miserable fucks aren't gonna take that away from me, no matter how "CZ" you think I am.

Pretty soon you have to stop blaming the coach and blame the ones who are playing and losing the games. Newman allows a 3rd down catch, wares bonehead penalty kept drives alive. Romo epic fail on a easy td to austin was the biggest failure. Hit that pass and the games over. Bailey choking. I think jerry just needs to break this team up. Too many years have past and we see the same mistakes from the same players.

Time to realise these players just need to go. Not ware but plenty of players can be named.

John fox is pretty great.

I was really pulling for him to come here.

But that is a unique situation they have there. If fox were here with a bunch of average dumb players on defense he wouldn't succeed either.
Okay, I am as big a Cowboys fan as the next guy. My entire family lives and breathes Cowboys football. I am still shocked about last night's loss. However, I am starting to come to the reality that our Defense is just not that good. Can you imagine what GB or the Saints would do to that Defense?

Was it me or did it seem like there were so many times when Eli just dropped back and threw a floater to a wide open receiver. Where was the pressure and sacks? Why is it our Defense always makes every teams QB look all world? What happened to the new dynamic Defense that was going to be implemented by RR?

I actually believe it may be the personnel vs. the schemes. Perhaps if we had better players we could better execute RR defense. I really think the following players need to be replaced next year:

-Ball - his pass coverage is terrible
-Newman - way way over rated; he looks like he does not care (watch the drop by manningham near the end of the game, it speaks volumes)
-Spencer - I have never seen a player who is always a tad late to everything (sack, interception, tackle)
-Scandrick - JJ rolled out the money for this guy; when is the last time he made a pick or big play?
-Brookings - good guy but time to go
-James - When is the last time he did something worth talking about...

Also, while I am putting together my Christmas wish list, the following players on Offense need to go as well:

-Bennett - I have never seen a player look less interested in playing
-Ogletree - how many more years will he get to prove he cannot break the starting lineup
-Free - ( he should be on the bubble) after 1 good year, JJ breaks the bank for this guy but he continues to encounter more false starts ( he should be on the bubble)

Perhaps I am being a bit too aggressive with my list but I want a winner and do not believe the above players will ever get us there!

If this post was an urban street dance, I'd walk up to The VA and Bob and say "You got served!"

Truth be told I posted that before reading the rest of thread and seeing everyone else dishing out the zone references. I guess it just came across like that to all of us.

Anyways, glad you could get that off your chest.

I've smoked dirty mexican weed that offered a better escape than the Cowboys could possibly hope to offer. In the past.

There is absolutely no reason to remove free. Move to right tackle sure if smith is ready, release hell no.

The defensive players are the problem. I don't think much of ryan. But it's th players.

The majority of these guys have baffled and struggled under brilliant defensive people in parcells and Phillips. Look at the results mike Zimmer gets in an extremely difficult division.

Think the eagles game will be the final home game for James, ball, Newman, brooking, Spencer ever barring a playoff game.

This team for years has worn the burden of being confused, unorganized, unable to finish, unable to dictate the game or get turnovers. For years guys like romo have taken the burden for that unit. They have been the root of this teams problems for awhile.

That is why to me I finish out the year the best I can and then replace as many of he guys as we can on defense.

I would look to replace Ryan with someone who will be in it for the long term with Garrett also.

If you get stuck with ryan, I would find as many pieces that fit in free agency as possible so that we not have to spend an entire draft on defense.

In the last two years we have overhauled the offense while never really missing a beat, time to do that on defense. It's hard to cut a gurode, trade a crayon, cut a barber an Williams but we did and we are better for it.

Time to do the same with Newman, bradie and Spencer. We will need 3 more corners next year which is crazy but it is true.

I would have loved Carlos Rodgers or Eric wright this year in balls role oh well I guess.

Entire post is spot on.

You watch the secondary play, and it begs the question... would the Cowboys have been better off trading up for Peterson?

Ware and Lee are givens. Ratliff maybe has two years left in him. Spears, Hacher, Scandrick and Sensabaugh were just re-signed, so they're not going anywhere. And Jenkins has won me over with his heart and his steady play. He's our best corner.

Every other defender is replaceable. Some are must goes: Brookings, James, Elam, Newman, etc.
