There was a thread about who you wouldnt want with our first choice, but going beyond that what would make next all of next weekend a disappointment for you, or warrant thinking we'd had a horrible draft?

There's a couple people who will complain regardless of what we do, I'd be particularly interested in what those people say now.

And of course I'll be accused of loving it no matter what we do, so I'll be posting my opinion on this too.

That said, the draft is a long term process. You dont truly know how a team has done for at least 2-3 years in most cases.

I'll be disappointed if we don't address offensive line until the middle rounds.

I'll be disappointed if we take a 5 technique 3/4 in round one.

And I'll be moderately disappointed if we don't invest in a young, developmental QB at some point, even if it is the 7th round.

If we didn't draft the right offensive line prospects. Like most of the time we don't.

If we reach for certain players when there's better prospects on the board.

Prince or Solder in the 1st.

And any trade down no matter what round just to look smart and take a who the hell pick from some small you most likely have never heard of.

Trading up.

However,it wouldn't bother me to trade down once or twice if we could get a couple of extra picks under the 130 mark, and still stay in the 1st round.

Trading down too much would bother me.

Letting the time run out and then getting beat in a trade (see 2009 2nd round) would bother me.

Drafting JJ Watt at #9 would bother me.

Ignoring the Offensive Line until Saturday would bother me.

Jerry Jones on my television always bothers me.

Same for me.

Either one of those guys in the first and I'm pissed.

Packaging picks to move up for Patrick Peterson.

Total fail right there.

I dont care to see that either, but if they do it it also depends on what they've given up to get him.

If they trade our 1 & 2 to move into a spot to take Peterson I think I'll be sick. At that point he's gotta be Deion Sanders or Mike Haynes to warrant that kind of move, and IMO I dont think he is or ever will be.

There isnt one player we'd take that could "ruin" the entire draft in my estimation, but if things like this happen I'd have huge concerns:

1) Sacrificing significant pick/s to move up from 9 to take Peterson (ie, trading this years 1st and 2nd to move to 4-5-6). At that cost, he almost HAS to be a Deion Sanders or Mike Haynes type CB, and IMO I dont think he is. I'm one of those in the boat that thinks he'll end up at FS pretty soon in his NFL career.

2) Drafting a QB early, especially if they havent picked up some extra Day 2 picks. I guess if they came out and said McGee wasnt ever going to amount to anything or that they had concerns he'd even be able to make the roster, I might change my thinking a little. But I havent heard anything like that from them and the guy has shown improvement and promise. I absolutely dont want to waste a late pick on a QB either. If the idea is to just bring in competition for the 3rd QB spot, do that with an undrafted guy. Now if they've accumulated alot of extra picks, I wouldnt complain as much. Bottom line is I think this QB draft stinks, and dont see alot of upside in hardly any of these guys.

3) Trading down too far from 9, missing out on several really good prospects. You dont get many chances to get top-10 talent, unless whatever offers they get are just too good to pass up (ie, Pats offer 17 and 33 for 9) I'd almost prefer to see us stay at 9.

4) Coming out of the entire process without some legit help at OL and DL

Not taking Robert Quinn if he is available to us at 9.

Taking Andy Dalton at any point in this draft.

Not using multiple picks on OL throughout the draft.

It'll be a waste if we don't come away with at least one new starter on the offensive line. I'd love to come out of the first 3 rounds with 2 potential starters along the O-line and hopefully a replacement for Alan Ball.

Forgive me for underestmating the value of Alan Ball.

Packaging any picks to move up for Peterson makes this draft a failure.
