I started at alt.sports.football.pro.dallas-cowboys over on USENET (does anyone remember USENET groups?) and Dan Smith's COWBOYS-L listserv (does anyone remember listservs?) back around 1994-95 or so. I stayed on USENET and the listserv for years, avoiding the web-based discussion groups because there were (and still are) too many of them. But as spammers took over USENET and as the traffic on the listserv died off, I was forced to join the web forums. I don't post very often at any of them but when I do it is usually at CowboysZone or True Blue.
I started on USENET too, Fred. In the early 90's. There was a general NFL discussion group where I posted often under a different username. I do remember your posts/contributions during USENET years.
Some people here may not know it, but you are a true historian of the team. You've been at it for at least 20 years.
(It isn't like you suddenly decided last summer to become a self-proclaimed historian, unlike some)
I went from USENET to The Ranch before it became affiliated with Scout.com. I posted there for several years (post count disappeared when the site went Scout.com). Over time, Roy's act wore me down a bit and their site was going through a rough patch ... an influx of many high school like members who didn't seem so much into football. During that time, an AdamJT13 post made it to The Ranch site (I'm pretty sure he posted it himself, but it might have been lifted and posted by someone else). It was one of those classic, in-depth AdamJT13 posts. I was impressed. I learned that he usually posted at the CZ. So I moved over to the CZ.
