As the title suggests, what are your realistic expectations for this year? Or better yet, what will cause you to reflect positively on this season when it's complete?

There are times I go full-fledged homer and think we'll be in the Super Bowl. But deep down, I know that is highly, highly... highly unlikely this year.

When I temper my enthusiasm and honestly assess this team and my expectations, this is what I expect in 2011....

Being competitive for the division title until the final week of the season.

Making the playoffs, and winning at least one game. (I tire greatly of the 1 playoff win in X# years, etc).

Dez break out with a monster season.

Ware notch a 17+ sack season. I'd love for him to threaten Strahans record.

And I'd like to sweep the Eagles.

What about you?

Conference Championship game. (not joking)

I can't wait to see Felix Jones as one of the league's top backs. I think it's coming if he stays healthy.

Tyron Smith being a nonstop ogle-fest for broadcasters everywhere.

Be competitive, respect the game and probably be a quiet team.

I think looking at the home schedule, we have to and could win 6 games.... So if we could steal a couple wins on the road and it is not crazy to think we could win at sf, Arizona, Washington, ny. But I think are season rides on stealing a game or two from, Philly, new england, the jets or Tampa...

I really dont see this as a playoff team but when I step back and look at the middle tier of the conference I think we could be.

I dont think we are talented enough to win the nfc. But we are talented enough if we take care of the home games which are crucial to make the playoffs.

I think all 4 east teams will be good and very similar.

My big fear is that we have an early season blowout or just play bad early and the media goes bananas like in 09 and then we never get on track with constant romo sucks, jerry sucks talk.

But if we can get the niners game and the skins game early we could be ok, that could be a confidence builder for the next group of games......if we struggle at home with this schedule there is virtually no chance of the playoffs...

Love the team first earn what you get philosophy being back though, wade Phillips attitude was pretty horrible overall. Glad to be done with it .

How big of an impact will back to back road games to open the season, on opposite coasts affect the team? Considering our first one is a late night prime time game?

probably no big deal.

Now rex ryan with two weeks...or whole offseason if you will....knowing the whole world is watching on the 10th anniversary of 9/11 in NYC to put together a game plan against a team with a new offensive line and three young players starting....

thats a big problem. I hope people dont freak out to much after week 1.

I feel that we are built to win...during the regular season as I feel that our O is top notch. And while I have full confidence in our line. They are young and if a team decides to scheme them into confusion. The good ones. They will. The name of the game is O wins and we have plenty of firepower on that end to do it.

Just not enough to compensate for a young line and terrible defense to do much beyond 9 wins.

But we have a relatively easy schedule. Because of that, we'll have a record that suggests we're better than we really are, IMO.

• Top five offense.
• Bottom five defense through four games.
• Defense begins to show drastic improvement by mid-season, with Jenkins and Spencer returning to 2009 form.
• Play physical, disciplined, determined football down the stretch and become the team no one wants to see in the playoffs.
• Finish 10-6 with a strong push for the conference championship.

I was really dreaming of 12-4 or 13-3 most of the offseason, but the defensive struggles have me seeing that as unlikely.

I still think offensively they will be good enough to win 10 or 11 games if the key guys stay healthy. Hopefully the defense can come together some and at least be respectable at some point this yr. If it does, we could make a run. If not I'll be quite happy with making a playoff run and getting in. Garrett overhauled the OL this yr, I could see a similar overhaul for the defense coming in 2012, and unlike this year we'll have plenty of cap room next year.

Even with a questionable defense, this is as excited I have been over a season in a long time.

This should be a cake schedule with no more than 5 losses, but I think we are closer to 9-7. 2xWAS, NFCW, Tampa, Miami, Buffalo, and Detroit should be wins but I think we lose two of those.

8-8 to 10-6. Start building the foundations of a championship team. Do things right on and off the field. Find out who canj play, and who should be shown the door in 2012.
