I guess I never realized how steep the climb is. Do military planes climb even faster than commercial airlines?

JATO take-off in a C-130. No comparison to a commercial airliner, but still.

It wasn't humvees, but a few heavy armored MRAPs. Five of them weighing 27k lbs each.

EDIT: They also talk about the hot takeoff MetalHead is referring to.

You know,that aircraft in the video is a massive C-5 Galaxy.It opens on both ends and its the premier military cargo we have.
I was wondering why would they transport humvees in 787 in that scenario,but they didn't(just like I am still asking why would they transport 31 Navy SEAL members in a single Chinook helicopter in a war zone,August 6 2011)...Who's making these decisions?
