Speaking of trading McFadden. Packers just traded with KC for Kniles Davis. You mean to tell me we couldn't have sent them McFadden for a late pick?

Shefter is reporting Pack gave up a conditional 2018 7th rd pick for Davis

I possibly see Jerry hanging onto McFadden to also play in the return game.

What are y'all thoughts on what Jerry made do?

Broaddus was hinting that the Cowboys might trade Morris and keep McFadden as the backup.

Its not what I would do.

Either or would be fine.

McFadden came on strong last year we a really weak passing game which says a lot about our oline.

Alfred is coming at a bargain and isn't injury prone like McFadden. The only thing I can see is Alfred Morris not liking his situation of not getting enough carries which could cause some chemistry issues.

Another issue is McFadden is in the last year of his contract. Now the Boys may like what they see in Jackson and him becoming the leading backup next year if Morris and/or McFadden are both gone. I'm really high on Jackson.

Morris probably has more trade value than McFadden, plus he is signed next yr as well.

But that's why I'd keep him over McFadden. He's younger, he's cheap for next year and he runs in this system extremely well.

Now if they believe Darius Jackson will be ready to assume the backup role next yr (certainly possible- big, strong, fast and can catch the ball) then trading Morris now might make sense. McFadden is a free agent after the season I believe.

Totally agree. DJackson is very good. He wouldn't be much of a drop off from Elliot in my opinion.

Morris is actually good and can stay healthy. That's kinda nice.

The real question here is, will Jerry bitterly cling to Romo, or make a good business decision IF that choice presents itself.

We can count on Jerry making the wrong decision when given the opportunity

A guy who still drives a 90s car won't have any such issues as you indicate here. He is humble, just packs a sack lunch and comes to work. That's why I would rather have him than 10 McFaddens.

Latest rumor floating around the internet today is the Jets trying to get Phillip Rivers. Sounds unlikely but I could definitely see them getting smoked by Atlanta this weekend and putting their season in dire straights.

I heard a Romo for Cameron Wake rumor, but it's probably BS.

Rivers would be a bigger cap hit for the Chargers than Romo would be for the Cowboys right now.

Michael Lombardi said that on that show with Skip Bayless. He was talking about the Dolphins being a potential trading partner for Romo and that the Cowboys should ask for Cameron Wake. Personally I don't like that deal. I'd rather have picks.

I agree. We need picks rather than another player. Our salary cap is going to be looking pretty rough next year due to the reworked deals coming into play next year.

salary cap relief is worth more than Wake or a 4th round pick

5 million in cap room and him completely off the books before 2018 is a great deal for us.

I want as much as possible if we trade him but bbgun is right, the compensation is secondary.

If/When the Cowboys inform Romo that they are going with Dak, Romo could request a trade. If he does request a trade, it'll happen.

An interesting part of the story will be how much input Romo has in choosing/approving the specific team to which he is traded.

If a trade happens, it'll be so strange to see him in a different uniform.
