That bolded part is important. A lot of legal experts have said Martin's autopsy would prove if there was any altercation between the two. I'd guess something like this is what they're talking about.

No, that actually makes perfect sense. Zimmerman, who up until that point had been communicating with authorities, provided his location, and made plans to meet officers upon their arrival... decided to kick a little ass until the cops came.

What made him need to stand his ground if he was simply asked a question about what he was doing? That's no reason to start swinging on someone and it never will be.
