I disagree.

They would've beaten us twice, so that's 8-8 right there.

I'm sure a quality QB could've squeezed another win somewhere.

Really? How many times of late have the Colts WITH Manning, beaten us?

This comes as news to Washington's "good TEs"

Well, when you realize one missed four games to a drug suspension, and the other who's season was ended early because of injury then it should really come as news at all.

How many times of late have we played them?

Or are you suggesting that because we played the Colts twice in the past 5 years, and won both games, that Manning wouldn't have improved the Redskins chances of defeating us?

lol okay

No. Different circumstances. You are assuming that we would have played the Redskins the same way. You just cannot change one variable of an entire scenario. Fact is, Manning had a better Oline with the Colts.

Yet fans do it all the time.

OMG! COSTA SUCKS! IF WE HAD BETTER CENTER WE PLAY BETTER WIN MOAR GAME!!!

but but but... if we had a better center, the opponent might've played us different.

OMG! NEWMAN SUCKS! IF WE HAD BETTER CORNER WE PLAYE BETTER WIN MOAR GAME!!!

Happens all the time in sports.

Naturally, if you change one variable, there is an entire sequence of events that would change. That goes without saying.

But based on what we saw... that being, the Redskins winning 6 games, and their most obvious glaring weakness being quarterback... and in a division where the champ was 9-7.... then it's not out of the question to suggest that had the Redskins had quality quarterback, then they very well could've won the division.

Does that make sense?

Or are you going to do the "they won games cuz lucky" and "serviceable my ass! horrid receivers catch 70 passes and 950 yards all the time in the NFL" routine as well?

The Redskins most glaring weakness is a complete lack of talent. QB only scratches the surface. Leon can't do evverthing.

Yet they managed to win 6 games.

In a division where the winner won 9 games.

A quality QB can make a huge difference. Let alone a paltry three game difference.

How did they win one? It's a miracle.

Costa does suck. Manning doesn't, but most of the Redskins do. One guy cannot do it all.

Based on what I saw, they lost many of games and it was NOT due to QB play or lack thereof. They have alot more problems on that team than just QB.

Does that make sense?

Maybe because they weren't as bad as you're trying to suggest.

I mean, they very easily could've beaten us twice. What does that say about our team?

omg and they actually beat the super bowl champs twice.

they are still fucking terrible.

And overachieved in doing so. like last year. They had a last place schedule. Just like last year.

There's a lot of whistling in the graveyard up in here.

I'd wager the Skins are just as close to the Cowboys. God forbid they get a decent quarterback. I don't know that Manning would do much for them except allow them to develop a young guy for a couple seasons, but he'd damn sure be better than anything else they've trotted out there over the last couple of decades.

I'll go on record right now. No matter who Peyton Manning plays for next year he'll be playing like his old self by the first regular season game.

This injury of his with the surgery he had has a 100% recovery rate. He just has to get back into football shape and get his arm strength back.

That's the thing that is scaring everyone about it. After reading up on this type of injury I've since changed my stance about Manning and his playing future. Whoever gets Manning next year will only be a better team with him. Yes, after this injury.

It's not the fusion part that's a concern. It's the permanent nerve damage that's rendered him with a Chad Pennington-like throwing arm. He might not ever get that back, no matter how awesome his neck looks on MRIs.

No whistling in the graveyard. Yeah the Redskins are close to the Cowboys. How many years they've finished last and with a last place schedule? Can you sit up there and say that Shanahan has done any better than Zorn, while Zorn had less "talented" personel? I didn't think so. People like to say they lost a couple of games last year that they should have won---we all can say that about our teams, but one thing Redskins and their fans overlook is that they won many more games last year that they should have lost. It cuts both ways.

Let them get a decent QB. Last time we heard, McNabb was supposed to have been that decent QB. And despite the prevailing opinion on this board about McNabb, fact is, there were alot more problems with that team than just McNabb. He was just conveniently thrown under the bus.

Yeah yeah, Mr. Go-As-The-Wind-Blows. You remind me of Timberlake's character in Bad Teacher. Irvin and alot of other players had that same surgery with the fusion and their careers were soon over. He's also older and not in football shape.

I agree that they do need to find their quarterback of the future, but if they don't find one for the present Shanahan won't be there to see if the young one pans out. The 'skins are actually one of the few teams that it would make a sense for them to take the chance.
