I'll need you to cite your scientific studies that show how people could avoid things like breast cancer, glaucoma and arthritis simply by eating more leafy greens.

I am healthy, I take care of myself, but I understand that there is a chance that there could come a day when neither of those things is true, and it may very well be through no fault of my own. I can take that knowledge and apply it to my fellowman, and understand that finding yourself in such a situation is bad enough without debilitating health care costs heaped on top of that.

Conservatives and health-care opponents seem incapable of that sort of empathy or understanding. All they can see is "I don't need it, why would anyone ever need it? Goddam freeloaders eating my taxes and stealing all the jobs."

Everybody gets sick eventually. The stress people have to go through to make it in this economy is enough to make anyone sick. Maybe you guys live above it all. Congrats, i don’t. Parents are legally responsible for seeking proper medical care for their children. Failing to do so can result in criminal prosecution, thus it is not a luxury.
