Unless the people decide it is? Or do we not live in a representative democracy anymore?

Oh. So the people have decided that?

I wasn't aware.

Hey, when can we vote that the government has to provide it's citizens new cars and houses and smart phones?

America! Fuck yeah!

Luxuries =/= affordable healthcare of citizens but you already knew that.

You could argue that health care is a luxury.

Humans have survived and evolved for thousands of years without it.

Clearly, it's not a neccessity.

Maybe if you're a ******.

Most people need healthcare because they don't take care of themselves.

Eat right, get plenty of rest, don't abuse drugs/alcohol, don't smoke, exercise, etc.

You'd be suprised at how little health care you need.

Again, it isn't a neccessity, therefore you could consider it a luxury.

I'll need you to cite your scientific studies that show how people could avoid things like breast cancer, glaucoma and arthritis simply by eating more leafy greens.

I am healthy, I take care of myself, but I understand that there is a chance that there could come a day when neither of those things is true, and it may very well be through no fault of my own. I can take that knowledge and apply it to my fellowman, and understand that finding yourself in such a situation is bad enough without debilitating health care costs heaped on top of that.

Conservatives and health-care opponents seem incapable of that sort of empathy or understanding. All they can see is "I don't need it, why would anyone ever need it? Goddam freeloaders eating my taxes and stealing all the jobs."

I need you to cite my nuts on your chin.

Listen, take care of yourself. You'll live a good life.

Yes, there will come a time when you will die. It might be because of breast cancer. It might be because you fall of a cliff. Or it might be because you lose a basketball game in the afternoon, get mad, try to steal an angry Natzi's Ford Bronco and he makes you put your mouth on the curb.

If you want to get health insurance, you're welcome to. You can shop for health insurance privately, or get a job that provides it for you.

That is you're right.

But by no means is it the governments responsibility to provide you with health insurance.

If it's the cost of health insurance that upsets you, blame your fellow fat ass Americans and this fast food, sit on your ass watching Jersey Shore society that we live in where everyone is sitting around with their false sense of entitlement, expecting teh gubment to provide them wit teh health insurance.

k?

I consider firemen a luxury. If your house is on fire you better find a way to throw some cash out the windows.

Tough shit, you shouldn't have been so cold and turned on a space heater

And if you can't afford it, well then fuck you and your low-class shitty health. I find that most people who think this way are Christian. Ironic?

But by no means is it the governments responsibility to provide you with health insurance.

Until we say it is, via Representative Democracy. We're heading that way, Obamacare was step one. Get on the free healthcare train!

Yeah, it's their fault. After all they are the ones who set price points that net these magnanimous medical corporations BILLIONS. Plus only fat lazy people get sick/wounded.

We'll win them over eventually. 60% of America is retarded and selfish and incapable of thinking clearly of "the greater good". But they'll come around.

Everybody gets sick eventually. The stress people have to go through to make it in this economy is enough to make anyone sick. Maybe you guys live above it all. Congrats, i don’t. I had to wait 11 hours in the emergency room. It made me feel like i was very important to this country, let me tell you.

Parents are legally responsible for seeking proper medical care for their children. Failing to do so can result in criminal prosecution, thus it is not a luxury.

Those 60% are poor, uneducated, and in most need of Obama's healthcare plan. My brother, dumbass that he is, is against it while having an assload of unpaid doctor bills for his family of 5. He can't even pay his own Dr bills why should he pay taxes to cover another's? This is the stupidity of the Republican party.

He says that to draw them over to his side, it doesn't make it true. If private industry cannot find a solution, and healthcare has been unable to thus far, government needs to step in.

Apparently dude who posted his banner can at least afford a smartphone/data plan and color printer.

Yeah, representative democracy is what got us where we are today, as all the polls on the topic verify. It wasn't presidential/congressional fiat.
