Click on the link for audio (supposedly):

http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nfl-s...line-watch-yourself-video-025747613--nfl.html

It looked like the perfect dichotomy: On the Detroit Lions' side, Calvin Johnson putting together one of the best 60-minute games by a receiver ever, and doing so without a peep. On the Dallas Cowboys' sideline, Dez Bryant flashing some impressive skills but immaturely spouting off, held back by his teammates.

Turns out, we didn't have the whole story.

Bryant was mic'd up for the game, and the video evidence of his "tirade" tells an entirely different one. There was no calling out teammates, no finger-pointing and no whining. Instead Bryant was imploring his teammates to play the way he thought they could.

Granted, there were profanities throughout what we can hear, but it's mostly positive — just as Bryant insisted it was after the game.

At :08: "We can't let them do that!"

At :12: "They manned me the [expletive] up! We destroy that!"

At :23: "If they press [cover] me, it's over!"

At :47, to Tony Romo: "We good on that, Tony! We [are] the best in the NFL on that!"

From there, the conversation with Romo, Bryant and wide receivers coach Derek Dooley involves how Bryant should run what sounds like an option route, with Romo and Dooley wanting Bryant to sit down in front of the safety.

Basically, that's it. That's what we see and hear. Granted, there was a pushing and shoving portion of the game when Jason Witten had to hold Bryant back, and didn't look too pleased about what Bryant was saying.

But this portion here seems to show just what Bryant asserted after the game: He's a passionate player who just wants to win

The problem is, Tony Romo is too scared to take chances anymore.

When you have an elite WR, you need to throw him the ball sometimes regardless of whether he's doubled.

Tony's deal is, he's so scared to throw a pick, that as soon as he see's Dez doubled, he looks elsewhere.

Basically Tony is a gun slinger who has either made the decision, or has been told by the coaches, to try and be a game manager. Don't risk any dangerous throws.

Whatever, I'm sure that audio has been doctored to make Dez look like a good guy. Gotta do whatever we can to avoid the firestorm. It's all a conspiracy.

btw... that link is actually the video. It's nothing like what the media is portraying.

It's a shame that this is the story from this game, and it's not the continual fucking up of game and clock management by our coach.

I thought the most interesting part of that vid was that apparently Dez wasn't running his route right and/or wasn't seeing the coverage correctly. Tony and Dooley were both on the same page about that. So maybe that's one reason Dez wasn't getting the ball like he wanted.

As far as the screaming and all that... I know this is the Cowboys and everything has to be a soap opera, but even with that, I can't believe how much coverage this is getting. It's not like he's the first football player to throw a tantrum on the sideline.

If we had real leadership, they'd call out all of the jackasses (Billick, Hasselback, Michael Strahan, etc) who ran their mouth about Dez. Instead, Process Boy will talk about how he's not worried about that stuff and how hard everyone worked at practice today.

I agree. Someone needs to say something to media. Of course, they won't.

We're a team of losers minus 4 or 5 guys.

At :08: "We can't let them do that!"

We, as in you and me. Throw me the ball and we'll beat these losers.

At :12: "They manned me the [expletive] up! We destroy that!"

Throw me the ball when you see man coverage. Got it?

At :23: "If they press [cover] me, it's over!"

Throw me the ball when you see press coverage. Got it?

At :47, to Tony Romo: "We good on that, Tony! We [are] the best in the NFL on that!"

You and me, Tony. Not you and Witten or Williams. After all, I only want to win, but we can only do that if you throw me the ball.

Everything he was saying there is dead nuts accurate, bbgun.

For starters, 75% of what he was screaming was unintelligible. Second, it's obvious that his idea of winning is him getting the ball. Jerry contends he's always double covered, but Dez says they're playing man. Which is it?

BB is by far my favorite poster. It used to be Bob but it appears he is clean and sober and doesn't have much to offer these days

To throw a monkey wrench in all this... DCfanatic has up a recording of Kristi Scales, the sideline reporter, saying that usually Dez's screaming is usually no big deal and positive if anything, but this time it wasn't good.

I bet that was the other tirade with Witten and Ware, though, not this one.

At least someone showed some emotion out there. Cowgirls have the 2nd most 4th quarter collapses of any team in the last few years so it's good to see that at least one player is not complacent with the shitty play calls and coaching decisions. I'm most disappointed in guys like Romo and Witten who actually played under Sean Payton and Parcells. They're untouchable guys who do not throw ginger under the bus at all.
