There is no doubt he is a good talker. He is very articulate. But I am not sure what he says and what he claims he wants to do will work as easily as he suggests.
Take his answer to the question about the department of education. I favor his position, but the woman asking the question asked him about standardization of schools from state to state. It is a legitimate question and any student who has transferred from one college to another knows this well. Not all their credits are transferable which means they probably have to take additional credits in their new school to catch up to where they were in their old school. I think this is a scam among colleges but it is a real issues that exists today. Will this happen in high schools and middle schools if there is no central authority over all schools in every state? I don't know if this was a problem before Carter created the department of education, but before we eliminate the department we need to make sure the issues it was supposed to address before it existed do not return. Maybe the answer is to reduce the size and scope of the DoE.
On the other side of the coin, since the DoE was created standardized test scores in the US have dropped every year relative to other countries, like India and China. While the US debates gender, and sexual preference in the classrooms, other countries are emphasizing math, science and overall academic excellence. In the US we are graduating ignorant brats who have no idea what it is like to compete. The DoE has been a failure in this regard.
