I posted before the SCOTUS decision the Texas lawsuit was a longshot for the very reason 7 justices gave it the boot. Standing. Texas had to show they were somehow harmed by the other states changing their election rules, and specifically how changing the rules without the legislature was more harmful than changing them with the legislature. The fact is, how a state votes may be detrimental to another state but that is how the system works. Also, Texas was asking for a remedy that was unprecedented. They were never going to get what they wanted.
Having said that, I thought they might at least listen to arguments before tossing it out. I think time may have been a factor in how they dismissed the case.
Trump's strategy of throwing everything and anything against the wall is just a distraction. It is not a winning legal strategy. What he needed to do, early and with serious argument, is not just claim fraud. He had to prove it - in court, not in public hearings which would accomplish nothing. For example, Trump's legal team claimed 66,000 voters in Georgia were under the age of 18. If so, that's more than enough votes to change the outcome so any court would provide some relief to Trump if he could prove the claim. As far as I know, he never did. Hearsay, innuendo and suspicion were never going to be good enough in a legal argument. Even if he could show a few hundred minors voted in Georgia with some kind of testimony that it could have been in the thousands, the courts may have given him time to collect the data and determine the actual number. As far as I know, Trump did very little in this regard.
I believe this election was rife with fraud. I believe there were thousands of fake ballots injected into certain districts, I believe lots of dead people voted and thousands of people voted in multiple states. I believe Democrats went all out to stop Trump. I will never believe this election was legitimate. But the SCOTUS signaled in 2000 that they are not going to throw out legitimate votes and that they will always give the benefit of the doubt to voters. Trump has only a few days to find the fraudulent ballots and show them to be fraudulent and part of a larger conspiracy or the electors are going to meet and elect Biden. Then, the country will be forced to contend with a person who Obama chastised when he said, "Never underestimate Joe Biden's ability to screw things up".
