I would be 100% ashamed to have a kid this blatantly fucking stupid.
I kind of agree with her. I worked in the private sector for years as both an individual contributor and a manager of people. I can imagine how much of a disruption an email coming from an outside organization directing everyone to do something, even a minor task like providing 5 bullets would cause. I do not think writing down 5 bullets is hard, but the way this was done is ham handed.
In the private sector we were always giving weekly or monthly reports on our accomplishments. Everyone hated it but understood why it was necessary. However, requests for this information always came through the chain of command. Anything from outside the hierarchy would of course create confusion. And I do see how this email exercise could appear to be some kind of muscle flexing demonstration from the DOGE team.
I have no doubt there is tons of waste in government, but this woman did not put herself in her job. Someone else created her job and she just applied and got the job. It's like DOGE is blaming all the little people while the main culprits are sitting in congress or at the top of government agencies.
Cost cutting is necessary, but it can be done with dignity and respect for individuals. Of course anyone breaking the law should be fired and prosecuted. But these people are not breaking the law by occupying the jobs they were hired to do. They are pawns. Find the waste and eliminate it, but do so in a way that does not look like punishment to a lot of little folks just doing the jobs they were hired to do. And btw, try to find the most productive employees and re-assign them to other jobs where they can be productive. Usually 10% of the people do 90% of the work. Find the 10% and cut the rest.
