Is a phone call more effective than an email?

What does CR stand for? Is this an actual bill or some other horseshit scheme they've come up with to spend money?

I think the only issue with the email is timing, they may not read it for a few days.

I've read for years that Reps/Senators see phone calls as true barometers of people's feelings towards government because they assume for every person that actually calls, 100's, if not 1000's of others feel the same.

CR means Continuing Resolution, in this case it's a short term spending bill to keep the government open. There's only a few things they need to do to make this happen, but instead they created a 1500+ page monstrosity that includes all kinds of massive waste, including an unprecedented 40% raise for Congress (which barely worked 1/3 of the days this past year)

You can easily look up any of the factoids that have been posted about it, but here's some other items:

And thats just a smidgen of whats out there. This is quite simply one of the worst bills ever proposed, and SOH Johnson did this despite seeing a massive voter mandate on 11/5 for DJT and MAGA supporters.

He MUST be removed as SOH (and likely will be now)

Republicans who commented said Johnson worked EXCLUSIVELY with Democrats on this new bill, that none of them (and especially Conservative MAGA people) were brought into this at all.

looks like the Dems have decided to make Musk the scapegoat for opposing the CR with all their talking points

they're like damn robots all firing off the exact same quote I assume was manufactured and then dispersed out of the DNC

Trump got behind the compromise CR, and 38 Trump hating R's torpedoed it because it didnt include the pay raises none of them deserve or all the wasted $$$$$. Only 2 Dems voted yes.

These fucking idiots will never learn. They just saw Trump win in a landslide and the people clearly are behind him, Musk and VR getting government spending back under control.

A bunch of these people just ensured they'll be primaried and lose in 2026. Mike Johnson will no doubt be replaced as SoH in a couple weeks.

He didnt do anything other than help post facts about the horrendous bill. People read the facts and were appalled, with 1000's and 1000's calling their Reps to voice their displeasure.

I am with Chip Roy on this. Why is borrowing money bad when we have a Dem president, but acceptable when Trump is president? Debt is debt and we need to hold the line at some point.

I favor what Thomas Massie has proposed. Vote on separate bills for each topic rather than cramming it all in to one all or nothing bill. If we are going to raise the debt ceiling again, then put it to a separate vote.
