So much of "1984" is materializing in American in the 2020s. In "1984" Orwell used the term "heretical" for spoken or written words that the authoritarian government did not want people to use. Today, we call it "misinformation". The use and purpose of "misinformation" is the same though.

Orwell wrote “Who controls the past controls the future. Who controls the present controls the past.” Is this not applicable today? The left is tearing down statues, re-writing history and we are letting them even though we know it is wrong. 100 years from now people will not realize what they are being taught is actually revised.

How about “Doublethink means the power of holding two contradictory beliefs in one’s mind simultaneously, and accepting both of them.” Is the left's hypocrisy not this statement? For example, Government persecuting people for their politics is wrong, unless they are persecuting my political opponents.

How long before we are told this is true, “War is peace. Freedom is slavery. Ignorance is strength.”?

One other question, is "1984" required reading in schools these days? I had asked my niece if she read it and she said she didn't. She is a junior in high school. I am curious because every child should read it. It is as relevant today as it was when Orwell wrote it.

I really believe all climate change pushers should be killed. These people (along with the Marxist WEF) are the greatest threat to humanity that there is.
