A federal judge in Louisiana on Monday put the Energy Department’s pause on natural gas export permits on hold, dealing another legal blow to the Biden administration’s climate agenda.

Judge James Cain of the Western District of Louisiana, a Trump appointee, granted a request for a stay from 16 red states that had challenged the pause, arguing it will harm their economies.

The money we spend replenishing the beaches on our coasts is a drop in the bucket compared to the money we are wasting in Ukraine, and on other silly projects that do not benefit Americans. At least beaches are a respite for Americans on annual vacations. They are places they can enjoy with their families. Plus, there are economic benefits to having great beaches and tourism.

Beach erosion is not new and it is not a function of global warming. The coastlines are constantly changing. Continental drift is slow, but real. I am fine with spending money to preserve the public beaches as long as possible. I am not in favor of using public funds to benefit private properties along the coastlines.
