Not like Newt.

I'm sure there are good Republican candidates out there. I'm just not sure why they are settling on these nitwits and losers who don't stand a chance.

It's like when W ran against Kerry. Bush was so maligned by the time the election rolled around that everyone was thinking he'd lose if the Dems picked someone halfway decent. Then they selected John Kerry and basically threw the election. The Republicans are doing almost the EXACT same thing and it will end up the same way.

Newt isnt the only candidate. I'm not sure I'll vote for him in the primary, but he probably is the smartest one running (and that includes the clown in the White House now)

I know that, but they are almost ALL terrible except for Romney - who has had to do so much flip-flopping and pretending to be crazy enough for this party's nomination that he will have done too much harm by the time he has to run against Obama.

Exactly what is your hero Obama?

Oh wait, he was a community organizer at one time. That counts.

Try 12 years as a law professor in Constitutional Law at the UIC, and a civil rights attorney. The community organizer bit was while he was in school, but don't let the facts get in the way of the propaganda. Carry on.

By the way he governs, he clearly knows nothing about the constitution. In fact its apparent he sees it more as a nuisance than anything else.

Please elaborate. What manner has he governed that indicates he does not know anything about the U.S. Constitution? You claim that he sees it as a nuisance... you mean like how Bush saw it as a "piece of paper"?

Oh, so if the Supreme Court rules that it's OK, then I guess that settles it.

*COUGH* the Dred Scott decision.

The Supreme Court is the supreme authority on what is or isn't constitutional. Trying to argue otherwise just proves you are a ******.

Right, just like how they once ruled that slaves weren't people.

The bigger issue in the courts are the one's under them. (Under the Supreme Court) They are making policy and deciding what law SHOULD be. Thats not their job.

Yep, the state of Oregon hasn't been able to execute anyone because the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals is run by hippies who hate the death penalty. Only two executions have taken place since the '60s because the murders waived their right to appeal to that particular court. A 3rd one was about to happen last week but the Gov. stopped it because he is a pussy. State and federal laws be damned, the 9th Circuit writes their own.

Did I miss something? I don't think the Supreme Court has ruled anything on the health care bill yet.

That is correct, supposedly they are going to rule on it this Summer.

I think a few state courts have reviewed all or parts of it, and have ruled against it.

The death penalty should be abolished.

No it shouldnt. If anything it should be used alot more.

Case in point, if you murder someone and there is no dispute that you are guilty, you should be put immediately to death. Its an utter waste of tax payer money keeping trash alive, paying all their attorney fees, court costs, appeals costs plus room and board.
