Yeah, I just watched that game. They had no problem getting Brandon Marshall the ball. Mike Burke blocked.me on FB last year because I asked him if he finally realized that Garrett ain't shit. Another thing to add to his resume that he's wrong about.

Speaking of that game, I'd take Todd Bowles right now. Of course Jerry gave him the sham interview in 2011.

He really wasn't that great when he was here though. He may not have been ready to be a head coach at that time but he really wasn't that great.

He could be a tree stump and be better than Red Doof

He was no Jerome Henderson, that's for sure

Wasn't he also the reason Dom Capers ended up not coming here (and signing with Green Bay) to be the DC or some kind of consultant to the defense? I could be remembering wrong but I seem to remember that they wanted to groom him to be the DC but he balked at the idea of bringing in Capers. So in order to not hurt his feelings or something like that, they didn't bring in Capers. That may have been around the same time that whole Dan Reeves thing went down.

Wasn't that when Brian Stewart was here as DC under Wade?

It was Stewart. But I don't believe that was the reason anyway. Capers was a Garrett guy and Garrett was trying to set up his future staff like he had with Houck and a couple others Jerry chose with Garrett ties. I think Wade balked at that -- Garrett got the coaches he wanted on offense but I suspect Wade didn't want that happening on defense also.

Looking back on those years I'm surprised we won as much as we did with all the politicking going on behind the scenes and what had to be some tension between Garrett and Phillips.

That's right is was Stewart. I know Phillips is not a great head coach but he really had no chance here. The fact that Jerry hired Red before even hiring Phillips should have let Wade know he was screwed from the beginning. I'm also surprised they won so much.
