I wish someone could give me a logical, honest and accurate explanation as to why Dez disappears
Because Ginger is willing to allow teams to take Dez away. Our offensive philosophy is "take what they give us."

Think about that term, for a moment.

i agree with that, I just think Dez is part of the problem

In Dez's first couple of years the biggest knock on him was that he didn't know how to run all the routes in the route tree. Is it possible that he still doesn't know all the routes and that's why he basically only runs 1 or 2 routes? They've moved him to different parts of the formation but they pretty much never send him in motion and he almost always ends up running the same route.

I don't know X's & O's but its mind boggling to me why they can't at least work in some slants. Also, running routes isn't rocket science so if Dez is still unable to run more than 2 routes, there's no way he should be considered one of the best in the league

dumb players, they have too many of them

I agree with that. I'll say that with this team being hamstrung by its coaching then Dez needs to make those plays in the endzone. He can't keep dropping TD's.

The zone has a thread discussing the all 22 breakdown of why Elliot couldn't get any yards rushing. They are all going over how the Giants stacked 8 and sometimes 9 in the box, but NOT ONE of them realizes the implications of this on top of the fact that Dez was getting doubled.

8+2=10

That means that there was only one DB left to cover 2 or 3 Cowboys players. The Cowboys somehow failed to notice, much less exploit the obvious mismatches that the Giants defense was "giving them".

Somehow, the smartest Cowboys fans in existence are just as blind to this basic football fail as the coaching staff was.

If the Cowboys were really "taking what the defense gives them" then they should have scored 5 touchdowns with ease. Archer even hit up Garrett about this for which he did not have a coherent answer.

This has been a convenient excuse for the Garrett folks for awhile now. I honestly don't believe it anymore. The roster has been turned over quite a bit from when Parcells and wade were here.

The constants are Jones & Garrett since 2007. They're the dumb ones, not the players.

That's by far the biggest problem they have.

No it isn't. The HC and the GM are far bigger problems.

The players do what the hell the coaches tell them to and it never works, this despite massive roster turnover. Its the coaches.

Why does it have to be either/or?

Wouldn't that kind of explain though why Witten and Beasley were targeted so often? Seems like the Giants basically said... We're going to take away Dez and take away the run game. Now try and beat us throwing the Witten and all your spare ass WR's.

Dumb owners and coaches sign dumb players. Jerry places NO value on intelligence because he thinks all players are dumb. The players in Dallas are FUCKING DUMB and it's not even a debatable point.

Player personnel turnover means nothing when the habit is to sign dumb players anyway. Nobody's making excuses for Jerry or Ginger - we're merely pointing out another symptom of their stupidity.

But let's face it, NFL WRs aren't exactly filling out the mensa rolls.

Other teams find ways to get a workable system across to their players anyway.

Yes, of course, but it shows the lack of coaching to actually take advantage of it by putting Swaim in for Witten, and Butler for either Beas or Twill as well as using routes likes streaks, flys, deep posts, corner routes, etc, to take advantage of the one on one mismatch instead of underneath to Beasley who isn't going to break one long, or old man Witten who can just catch and get tackled these days. This is yet another expose' on the lack of coaching ability of our staff.

Yep no one said they were or even should. Problem in Dallas is, it's not just WRs.
Other teams find ways
Bottom line right there. Other teams don't keep dumb players around for the most part.

I've been sitting here watching Buffalo and the Jets go up and down the field on each other, both teams loading the box alternately, with double teams on the wideouts alternately - somehow both teams adjust on the fly to what the other team is doing and they're gouging each others eyes out.

Oh and, both teams seem to know something about that which we haven't seen in Dallas for a long time - the long pass play! The fucking BOMB!

They're not passively "taking what the defense gives us" they're attacking. TAKING what they want.
