Cowboys and DT Henry Melton are putting finishing touches on a multi-year deal, according to a source.

Source: #Cowboys have agreed to terms with Henry Melton but it is a complicated deal and both sides are still working on it.

Glad we are getting him, hopefully his knee is 100%. Definitely helps us be better up front than what we are right now.

Still working on numbers but sounds like a one year deal for Melton with a club option for 3 other years if performs well.

"It's complicated, Henry. You'll get paid, but it will be when Romo does his yearly restructure, then if we don't have enough money, Grandson Jones sucks a mean dick. Get on over here, Grandson, meet Henry. Go on, sit on his lap."

Pending the terms of the deal, this is a much needed move. Hope we don't overpay. But the structure of one year with a club option sounds good.

Depends on the option, IMO.

Easy out but risk of committing to a guy big time for 1 year of "show-me" play

I'm assuming the option is going to be pretty massive or Melton wouldn't have much incentive to sign. He can get a one year deal anywhere. Just hope the team has learned its lesson with all these bad deals.

Scared to find out how much we money whipped the guy, I can't see him choosing Dallas over a team like Seattle unless the $$ were big

I'm having nightmares of Roy Williams contract dancing in my head

It's probably $3mil this year, and the option years are probably $5-$7mil per.

Basically Melton will most likely be renting the place he decides to move to this season.
