Look people so what if we got away with Romo's gaffe. I recall a few years back in Green Bay we got screwed for it. The Packers called a timeout when they didn't have no timeouts left, not only did they NOT get penalized for it, but they got the timeout. That was just of the many bad calls in that game that determined the outcome.

Babe laufenberg clarified all this nonsense today on the fan.

There would have been NO PENALTY FOR CALLING TIMEOUT ON TONY ROMO. The officials are instructed to ignore a team attempting to call timeout if they do not have one.....we would have had a delay of game obviously though.

apparently the crazy rule is a penalty if you call back to back timeouts and do not have one....ala joe gibbs in o7 against buffalo that cost them the game, that was an unsportman like conduct.

so in the end, if we got a delay of game we could have attempted the kick on 3rd down from 44 or run a play and then kicked.

Joe Gibbs did have two timeouts. The rule is that you cannot call back-to-back timeouts as a tactic to ice a kicker, whether you have the alotted timeouts or not.

Case dismissed.

Well, it's what we know.

He could assume he would've kicked it better. And we could just as easily assume he would've kicked it worse.
Actually, what we know is he made the kick, we didn't get a penalty, and we won the game. So like I said, case dismissed.

Because we got lucky.

One day... you and I will agree on something. And when we do, you will think to yourself... "So, this is what it's like to be right. Nice."

You are assuming we dont run another play on 3rd down after the penalty. Probably a run play, but we still probably run a play.

And who cares if we got lucky. We've been unluck enough over the recent years, we could use some "luck" as well.

You shower with Babe?

Man... the lengths you'll go to to get him back on Romo's bandwagon!

I know I am guilty of constantly quoting babe. I just think the world of the guys intelligence on this team and the nfl.

i find it kind of funny he has not mentioned anything about being off the romo bandwagon or being out on romo in a while! Romo was on the postgame last week and they were goofing around like always. Romo has really thick skin though.

How do you know he woulodnt have made the kick anyway?

He's made all but one and he was kicking with the wind. I doubt he would have missed it.

We were fortunate to win the game, but not because of this stupid non penalty on the timeout thing.

The kick he did make? Move it five yards back... and it's wide right.

That's what I'm going by.

You dont know that. You are assuming he would have kicked it EXACTLY like that, and that isnt necessarily true.

The longer the FG, the more adjustments a kicker makes.

Its also doubtful they'd have let him kick it anyway, they could have run another play. If you are going to assume the worst case scenario (a miss) then maybe I should assume on the 3rd down play Romo throws a 40 yd TD to Dez Bryant.
