Pretty disappointing "dress rehearsal game" , especially the starting offense IMO

I had assumed all offseason and up till tonight that we would be really good offensively, but after seeing this tonight now I am not so sure.

Some players had good games but few and far between. Bailey is absolute money. This Patmon kid looks like he has something. Loved what Ryan Williams did.

Overall about as ho hum as it gets.

I can understand why you had high hopes for the offense. On paper, they should be very good. For some reason this offense has never been an explosive like the Broncos or Packers. They are not able to put a high volume of points in the board game after game. It may be Garrett's scheme or playcalling, but it doesn't produce like it should. The oline is not going to come together as fast as what fans expect. They are young. With the defense being hot garbage and the offense not carrying the team, it is gonna be a long year for the faithful.

I'd still go with Vaughan as backup.

Weeden isn't going to carry the team if Romo goes down. Trade him and start a stockpile of picks for next year.

Good point. Weeden is not going to carry this team if Romo is out. He can't prevent this team from a 6-10 record. This season, I don't know if Romo can keep the team above 6-10. This defense is going to be hard to overcome.

This is a good thing. 6-10 hopefully ensures Garrett will be gone and we get good draft positioning.

Watching Romo run around and get sacked and seeing the team get to third and 10 still shows that the offense continues to be a predicable scheme. Much of this scheme has not changed in years. Yes, Dez is able to make receptions in coverage and Jason is valuable to get open in a pinch, but that is still more about Romo's decisions and instincts. Since Jason rarely attempts formation changes, logical running game threats or even trying the natural variable of upper tier speed, opposing defenses are able to recognize typical patterns in the Dallas offense and throttle them. I remember in 2007 when teams would stack the line and start teeing off on the obvious pass play, Sparano would call a screen or a draw to make the defense pay. Parcells would have his QBs roll out. But tonight, the defense made a few stops and even scored, but once again, the offense was not designed for 2nd and short or 3rd and easy. One TD and two FGs. I'm not interested inthe win. But this year is not going to be blamed on the defense again when year after year, the bunches of Romo yards and mop up gains are hiding a huge flaw of an ineffective scoring system. Change the formations, change the amount of runs, or get upper tier speed at WR and at least the predictability will be reduced a little.

Defence looked good, offence not so much. Was hoping for more from them. Oline didn't we the battle up front.

Any injuries?

Heard Harris got dinged.

Harris messed up his hip.

Randle strained an oblique.

Schlub TE from Baylor blew out his Achilles.

The most serious one is Selvie hurting his surgically repaired shoulder. Jerry sounded concerned, which is a little unusual.

Jerry's concerned his most proven sack master is hurt?

Great, he's already thinking, "next year Jason will have a healthy team".

You guys know he once wore a live rattlesnake as a condom?

He's not going to apologize for it either.

I remember a time when John Fox was rumored to have a chance at being HC in Dallas. There was many fans that was totally against it. Look at where the Broncos are at and compare it to the Cowboys. Fox started out with much less talent than Garrett , but look at where the two teams are now. Garrett's HC stint has been a total failure and I think he has set himself up for a Campo type of season. Garrett has positioned the defense in a position where the talent level is about the same as the Campo years if it is not worse. Jason , Jerry and Stephen is a toxic combination that has sucked the life out of fans that are realist. By the way, Garrett said that the hits that Romo took was good for him. I bet Romo's back says different.

Randle hurting his oblique is a problem for him. He can't afford to miss time.

Selvie injury sucks.

Saw on ESPN bottom line where Patmon had two ints and a touchdown.

Legit player or flukey plays against schlubs?

One of his picks and a forced fumble were vs their starters

Looks like he has something. I would def keep him on 53

This team is really bad lol. Holy shit.

We should sell our players

Dez. Twill. Murray. Witten. Anybody that has any kind of value to try and stockpile picks to rebuild this thing

Offense got their ass kicked. I think the Miami defense might be a good defense this year. Strong pass rush. I am not worried about the offense. Just happy they got out injury free for the most part. Offense will be good this year. Defense is still shit but they seem to be finding a few diamonds in the rough. That Newsome kid is impressive, wow. Newsome and Bryd they have to keep. A shitty team like the Browns will snatch them up.
