Most of this team's problems can be traced to one of the biggest nit wits in all of sports ....Jerry the GM. He has screwed this team up so bad, that I do not realistically see them contending until he A. steps down as GM and hires someone competent. The secondary on this team would have trouble covering the zombies from Walking Dead ! Newman is positively dreadful, Elam is a one year stop gap. Jenkins is courageously trying to play through a list of injuries but barely able to play. Scandrick is ok as a nickel guy but only a total imbecile would have signed him and Sensabaugh to long term contracts. As a unit they are a complete and utter disgrace and Campo should be given the shoe immediately. The offensive line is the second worst unit on this team ! Free another guy that should never ever have gotten the contract & salary that he got. Another total bonehead move by the GM ! Smith has tremendous potential and will be great someday but the Costa experiment has been a total failure............you just can't keep shopping in the "bargain aisle" for offensive line help, far too often it comes back to bite you in the buttochs. Romo's broken collar bone last year and his number of sacks this year are living proof, Draft a legit center with a high draft pick and a guard too. Anyone think the Jets ever regretted taking Mangold ? I think not. A rebuilt line would give Romo time to go down field and stretch defenses and open holes in the run game. Like almost every thing in this country, "you get what you pay for" and they skimped on this line and are paying for it now. On the positive side for next season, we found a PK and a RT and a decent RB. Sean Lee is becoming a superstar,I think Fiammeta was a find . Romo is the 4th highest rated QB in the NFL and deserves better. I beg this team to pick a CB or safety from either LSU or Alabama in April's draft . Let Newman walk and Alan Ball go pump gas for a living, cuz he couldn't cover Betty White. Dump Brooking,James, and Bennett pick LB Luke Kuechley from BC.
This is the second year in a row this team has forced me into basketball season too early. Well I'll tune in for the draft in April.

funny when i hear analysts and former player and even aikman talk about romos problems they do mention OL problems not really this yr but more his inabilty to just throw the ball away instead of forcing throws and holding the ball too long looking to make a play that isnt there

guess some just use the armchair analyst route.

As of right now, it is. The 3-4 gives the outside linebackers all the opportunities to make the plays. If they stay in a 3-4, they will need another dynamic OLB.

Dallas biggest need is a big NT. Plain and Simple. Ratliff is a monster the first half of the season. He's a cupcake right now. wore out

Out of everything and everybody you think Dallas' biggest need is a big DT? Not CBs, or Nickle DBs that can Cover, a real SS, A real FS, half an OL, or a GM?

A NT is right up there at the top of the list of team needs if we plan on continuing to stay in a 34 defense. Do you think its a coincidence we've had trouble stopping the run and getting pressure?

No.

I also don't think it trumps every other need. I would argue that if we had stud DEs or a warm body opposite Ware that the DT would be less of a concern...

If we had a stud at every position it would be nice. However, even an average NT would help this D tremendously. Spencer does better at pressuring the QB than you think, but even Ware was ineffective against a makeshift Giants OL. It makes it much harder for your OLB's to get sacks when the QB can just step up in the pocket every play to avoid the rush. We don't collapse the pocket at all.

I'm sorry; I didn't even read the rest of your post because of this.

That's fine with me.. im not suprised.

How many pressures do you think each had against the Giants, Spencer and Ware?

Just outta curiosity..

I don't care.

My point is that during every game I can watch Spencer disappear like David fucking Copperfield. He should not be a starter in the NFL.

In a 3-4 it's my understanding that this responsibility lies with the whole DL, as the OLB is rushing (usually) from the outside. I'm not sure anyone on the DL is providing any push.

Not suprised by this response either, given the last one.

I actually figured you'd respond like this, because i know this type of fan. You don't care what is actually going on, just what you think you see.

Meanwhile, in realityland, Spencer had 5 pressures against the Giants, while Ware had 6.. and you can best believe if Eli didn't have a huge pocket to step up into almost every single play, there would have been some sacks between the two.

They arn't, but it starts in the middle, and when you have such an undersized NT.. you give yourself almost no chance. There's a reason almost every other team in the NFL that runs the 34 has a 330+ lbs guy in the middle. Ratliff is getting knocked back pretty much every play, and its not his fault. We put him at DE next year and he doesn't have to face constant double teams by the C and OG's, he could cause alot more chaos, especially with a huge NT that can get a push next to him.

Right. So, Ratliff and Ware are double teamed and Spencer can generate some pressure.

You don't know what kind of fan I am. I do care what is going on. I care that Spencer takes half his downs off. I care that Spencer is not producing results. I don't look at stats and make blanket statements. I look at each player's influence on the game. I think that it is just as important to have capable DEs as DTs. I don't care how many pressures someone has when it has no outcome on the game.

I know you're the type of fan that, when asked how much pressure you think each player got last game, replied with "I don't care... i knowz what i seezezz!"

..and now you don't think ability to generate pressure has an outcome on the game?

Sigh.. ok. lol
