Peter King suggests it might be Jon Gruden

I didnt read his MMQB yesterday, but this was in today's column by Randy Galloway at FWST:

Meanwhile, King is and always has been a leading national voice with access to information at Valley Ranch. What Peter says about the Cowboys, listen closely.

This is what he wrote Monday for SI.com:

"I would not be at all surprised, if the Cowboys have a bad final three weeks, if Jerry Jones goes after Gruden hard."

Gruden is the most overrated coach I have ever seen. What exactly are his accomplishments besides winning one SuperBowl with Dungy's players against a team he coached the previous year? That's right, nothing. He sucks.

Yeah, Galloway was talking about this yesterday. I was surprised to hear him say that Peter King actually has better access to Jerry than anyone, even anyone in the local media. Well, I guess Werder isn't local anymore, but I thought he probably had the best.

Anyway, like he says, with King's access and Gruden not really being talked about by anyone else, there could be something there.

I'd still bet it's Payton, with a smaller chance of Holmgren.

But I also believe by far the best odds are on Garrett, though. Even if we don't make the playoffs.

Sounds like a bunch of media lies to me. All they do is lie and you suckers fall for it. Listening to them you'd think this team has only won 1 playoff game in 15 years.

Biggest knock on Gruden is he won w dungys players and then didnt do shit. When in reality, #1) he was very successful In Oakland After taking over a shitty team. And #2) the Bucs traded away 2 firsts AND 2 seconds to trade for Gruden. TB was already In cap hell when Gruden took over and the team went to shit. Mind you, he still win 11 games a few years later...

Not sure why people say Gruden sucks at acquiring talent. He wasn't the GM/didn't have player control in Oakland or TB. Plus, TB had no picks anyways.

Yeah. I'm on the fence. People can say what they want about Gruden, but to win a Super Bowl with the likes of Brad Johnson, says quite a bit. Yeah he's Chucky and he's hyper, but maybe that is what we need around here. You want an HC that will demand accountability...? He deactivated Keyshawn at midseason, and made it Key's last season as a Buc.

You have to remember that at Tampa, Gruden never had a QB. He had to make do with Brad Johnson (who he won a SB with), a washed up Jeff Garcia, and true bottom feeders like Bruce Gradkowski, for God's sake.

Gruden has the fire and intensity of Jimmy and he'd be great for Romo.

He basically spent the last 2-3 years fellating every franchise on MNF, so I know he'll work we'll with Jerry. Y'all seem to think that we have like a litter of awesome coaches to choose from. There are only 6-7 decent options out there, and of that, only 2-3 would be political enough to handle our crazyass owner. Most self-respecting human beings wouldn't touch the Dallas job.
