Even if you don't go anti Floyd on this topic. You can still make a great case for this move being wise.

Fred has instantaneously become a top 2 OL on this team. Fred by himself may prove to be as good or even better than Floyd by himself. When you add Williams into the mix, it's not even a debate. The FO made a great decision passing on Floyd.

It's still early to see what Floyd will turn into. But he's already hurt and while he was healthy, he showed nothing as far as pass rush ability goes.

Imagine this offensive line without Fred. Jesus. At least he's come in and immediately locked down the center position. For all the shit we got for that pick, he's at least proven that he isn't a complete scrub.

Waaaaay too early to tell.. This move will look brilliant a couple years from now if Fred turns into a stud. As of now, there's still that chance he goes all bust on us.

I love how Glory and Mid try to go full homer a few times each year only to be brought back to a cold, harsh reality.

Suckers.

Not knocking on Fred, but lets not pretend like this is much of a feat.

Hell, Hos's wife could be a top 2 OL on this team if she slimmed down to a reasonable playing weight.

Hahaha.

Being top 2 isn't much of a feat. But for all the backlash we took w that pick, you would have thought Fred would have been hard pressed to even crack the starting 5.

I'm not going full homer at all. Fred by himself is going to be better than Floyd. Just bc it's true doesn't mean you can't point it out, CMD.

He's probably our best OL considering how shitty Tyron has been doing in camp.

what comes first: "shoulda taken jjwatt bt sacamano or a dismissive flippant post by dbair?

I guess coming away with Floyd and Fred just not possible option?

Most believe Frederick would have been available in the 2nd. Jerry quickly pointed out Detroit would have taken Frederick. Again, that came from Jerry so take it for what it's worth.

I like Frederick, a lot actually. I just never thought we'd take him in the 1st. I also never thought we would help out the NFC Champs in a trade down. I should have.

You're overdoing it a bit. Sure, don't trade intra-division. But let's not get out of hand and extend that to intra-conference.

Nobody knows if Fred would have been there in rd 2...what we do know is all of the guys that the team thought could come in and contribute right away were gone, except Fred. Nobody here would have been ok w taking that risk and failing.

Who knows. Rumors after the draft said the Lions and Raiders both would have drafted Frederick had he been available. Who knows how other teams looked at him or valued him compared to other guys available.

How exactly did we help out SF? They didnt trade up for free. it cost them a middle pick in the 3rd rd, which we turned into a very talented WR. And they are deserperate for WR help now.
