1) Belichick went grovelling back to Parcells after failing in Cleveland
2) Payton is now begging Parcells to come save the Saints season

I'll take the actions and opinions of those two men over that of an internet message board moderator. Probably cuz this isn't CZ, where that kinda stuff is normal...

Ouch.

Midswat, I think you should stick with posting prostitot pictures.

Some people just dont like Parcells on a personal level. That's fine, if they would be hoenst about it. The trouble comes when that personal dislike manifests itself in their ridiculous attempts to denegrate the man's accomplishments.

Who cares how long BP coaches in one spot?

Why is that even being discussed?

He brought this franchise out of the gutter. Thanks to him the team has been somewhat relevant since he had his hands on it.

Because some people are suggesting him bringing four franchises to the post season is some incredible feat.

The guy kept quitting. So he's coached in more spots.

A coach staying in one or two spots for 10 years or so, and sustaining success is more impressive to me than someone who keeps getting burnt out.

Four years. 0 division titles. 0 playoff wins. 34-30 record.

If that gets your dick hard, you've got horridly low standards.

I don't know Parcells on a personal level.

I don't dislike him. I just see him for what he is. An outdated relic who was too stubborn to change his ways.

Did he add a lot of talent, yes. Did he also hold us back in a lot of respects? Yes.

He was at his best behind a microphone, not on a sideline. Not in todays NFL.

So Parcells' greed comes and goes then?

It's well known that when Jerry went looking to hire him, his wife had just dry fucked him in a divorce. After being paid very well for awhile, he was no longer in a dire financial situation. It's not hard to figure out.

He left New England because Kraft wouldn't let him buy the groceries and he left Dallas because he was fed up with Jerry Jones' interference. Not because NoDak the bitch says he was a bitch.
:lol

Don't you have a klan meeting to attend?

It's not just taking 4 teams to the playoffs. It's rebuilding and reshaping each team from shit, to playoff teams.

I see the point you're trying to make with the 0 this and 0 that, but he's done more for this franchise than anyone not named Landry or Johnson, as far as coaching a team and acquiring talent goes.

So he enjoys/enjoyed the challenge of building a team up from shit. How is that a crime? Or better yet, why does that have to a negative on his legacy? Because he didn't stick around long enough to see it through?

I'll freely admit that Parcells pulled us out of a major funk, and I'm happy for what he did for us.

But this really isn't a compliment. After Landry and Johnson, who are you comparing him to? Switzer, Gailey, Campo, Phillips, and Garrett. Hell, Garrett looks like he's on the fast track to the HOF compared to the rest of that group.

But what is the point of this thread?

Is Parcells a great coach or isn't he? I haven't time to go back and read many posts in this thread, so I'm not exactly sure what you think of him.

I know Middy has a hate hard on for all things Bill Parcells, which is fine, but the guy was a great coach, with and without Belichick. Anything not shitty that has happened in Dallas over the last 7 or 8 years is because of Bill Parcells, IMO.

I think Parcells in the first 10 or so years of his career was an all-timer. Then he was very good. Then he was good. I think in the last couple of stops, he has done a good job, but is over-rated. By both fans and media. Middy might be overstating it a bit, but he's right. Since he left the Giants, what exactly HAS he done that is so spectacular? He's pulled teams up and made them respectable. Cool. But he's not the only one to do that. What he is, is the only one that jumps from spot to spot to do it. Maybe that's what he likes. Good for him. But to put him on a pedastal like he's some kind of football god is weak. Now, if he'd have won a superbowl at those stops, sure. I could understand it. But he didn't, and still gets the same treatment.

I'm grateful that he came to Dallas. He changed the culture and brought us some great players. But I was never impressed with his gameday coaching. He was middle of the pack, at best, when it came to managing a game. At least while he was here in Dallas.

Pretty much spot on.

Yeah.

Generally speaking, quitting on a job and not seeing it through is kinda a negative.

No?

And to answer the question, No. He's not obligated to stay on and coach when he doesn't want to. Just like Jerry or any other owner isn't obligated to honor every year of every contract.
