But this notion of....hey, Garrett and Rob will approve of the picks, so we're all good.....is a joke to me.

Neither guy has ever proven a damn thing as a talent evaluator. I can't call them bad but I certainly can't assume they're good either.

If anything, Garrett screwed the pooch going to bat for Felix Jones. Leaving Johnson, Mendenhall and Rice still on the board.

BTW, I'm not saying I think Ciskowski is good. He's just an actual scout. Unlike the pieces of shat above him.

I don't think you can accurate measure Felix Jones until you give him at least somewhat of an adequate line, as well as put him ahead of the obviously inferior Barber.

For what it's worth, I thought the Cowboys did well last year managing the draft. The first 3 picks were solid. Players were taken at good value positions, meaning they weren't reaches... And if anything they went later than they should have.

If the Cowboys manage this draft the same way they should be fine.

The pick at 9 is a crapshoot. I think it's 50/50 that they stay there or trade up or down. Offensive or defense? Again who knows?

I'm not ready to say the Felix Jones pick sucked.

That's what I'm afraid of it's run the other way.

Look at a team like New England they almost never make mistakes in the draft.

It's because they run things the way it should be.

Of course I believe he'd be much better with some talent along the offensive line. But he still wouldn't be Chris Johnson.

Chris Johnson is a terrific talent.

Several teams missed out on him.

I'm not a Mendanhall fan. I still prefer Felix over him.

That isn't fair. No one had CJ pegged to be as good as he is. If that was the case, he'da gone much higher in the draft (obviously).

Hell, most considered it a shock when Tennessee took him when they did.

All I know is that theogt was horribly wrong when he predicted Chris Johnson's career. I wonder if he'd still take him before the 5th round lol

Long story short, a total doofus over at the Zone, theogt, who talks like his shit doesn't stink, although he's been universally wrong on almost everything, said pre-draft that year, that he wouldn't take CJ before the 5th round, and said that he was nothing but speed.

He even tried to use the 20-yard short shuttle drill against him, as proof that he had nothing but his speed move, when CJ didn't even participate in the event lol

Chris Johnson was a first round projection going into that draft. Once he ran the fast 40 at the combine he became a top 32 player. I know several people wanted him in Dallas over Felix. I just wasn't one of them.

Spin, smoke, mirrors, whatever. Garrett went to bat for the wrong guy. And his reasoning for the pick, to compliment Marion Barber, was retarded.

A lot of folks at the Zone preferred Felix or Mendanhall... A few liked CJ, but many felt he was a "Poor Man's" Tony Dorsett.

I remember a lot of folks over there throwing their remote through their TV after we passed on Mendenhall.

I don't know how being a poor man's Tony Dorsett is an insult.

I can't remember who I wanted that year, I think it was Mendenhall.

The said part about that pick was these guys were still on the board and no one really knew the reasoning.

Rashard Mendenhall, Chris Johnson, Matt Forte, Ray Rice, Jamaal Charles.

I wanted Mendenhall but the flock at the Zone said Felix was a nice compliment to Marion. I really wanted CJ but thought he could be had bottom 1st/top of the 2nd.

I didn't know much about CJ, In fact I didn't do a lot of homework on prospects that year.

I did know that Mendenhall was a better back than Felix Jones.

I remember alot of zoners not wanting Felix because they mixed him up with Raphael Little only doing 8 reps on the bench, or something ridiculously low like that.
