I know I've been on the Tyron Smith bandwagon as of late.

I just have this feeling we aren't drafting offensive line with our first pick, and we'll trade down.

I believe we'll address the offensive line in the second and or third rounds.

Having said that I'm changing our first round pick to J.J. Watt. If it's not him it'll be Cameron Jordan. There's a lot of smoke screen going around right now, and too many reports of us taking Tyron Smith at 9.

It's not happening, we'll address the defense in the first round and there's too many defensive ends and defensive tackles to spare in the first round to gamble taking an offensive lineman in the top ten. Mid teens, yes.

Another way you can look at it is, when was the last time Jerry drafted an offensive lineman in the first round? Why would he change now?

I'm with the majority of the fans about the offensive line, but the more I read the more I say it's defense in the first round.

Okay, let the debate begin. Do you agree with this or not?

I'm pretty sure JJ stands for Just Jag.

He is a Shante Carver type reach at 9. I would take him ONLY IF we traded down twice. Taking him before pick 20 is a mistake.

Yeah, it's my own personal thought.

The "okay, let the debate begin" line threw me off. Sounded like something a blogger like Vela would write.

Personally, I hate the idea of taking a 3/4 DE in the first. Especially when we have some capable options on the roster.

Re-sign Spears. Re-sign Bowen. And I'm not giving up on Oshlansky - he's still a good player, IMO. Everyone had a down year last year.

I'm on board for trading down and getting another pick or two, but I still want to address the Oline in the first. Take the best tackle available when we're on the clock.

Old saying, games are won in the trenches.

We have capable Dlineman on the roster. We lack capable Olineman on the roster. Address that.

I don't think J.J Watt or Cameron Jordan are a top ten pick either.

I want us to take either Tyron Smith or if they fall, Peterson, Dareus or Fairley.

I think we trade down a little and take Watt or Jordan maybe even Aldon Smith.

I agree with that.

It's not what we would want, this is the case of what Jerry wants to do and will do.

That line will make sbk92 proud, but I think you're smart enough to realize that whatever move we make on draft day, both Jason Garrett and Rex Ryan are going to be on board with it.

First off, the whole "Jerry does whatever he wants" notion isn't true. And to think that he'd go against the wishes/desires of his two new coaches isn't even believable.

Leave that schtick to sbk.

I agree with this. I can't stand the idea of taking a 3-4 DE with our first rounder.

I either want the OL or an impact position player like Quinn at OLB, or Peterson at CB/S at 9 or the trade down and then addressing the OL after acquiring picks.

I'm hoping your right, Mid.

I want JG's opinion most of all. For example if JG says he wants Tyron Smith at 9 then I want Jerry believing in his coach and making that pick. Same with Rob or any other coach or scout on this team that gives their opinion.

I agree, especially if prospects like Peterson, Dareus or Fairley fall. Then we should select one of them.

When was the last time Jerry drafted a first round WR before Dez Bryant last year?

Sorry. I don't buy it. I think you're giving Jerry too much credit to assume he has a philosophy.

I think OL is just as likely as DL with the first pick. I just don't think it will be at 9.

So long as the scouts sign up on the pick, I agree.

Just an example... if the coach is saying he wants Racob Jogers, but the scouts are jumping up and down and objecting... well, I hope we go in another direction.

The only appeal to J.J. White is he might be the emotional leader we need on defense.

Other than that, I agree. On talent alone, he's not a top 20 pick.

I don't know why I'm supposed to be comforted with the thought that Jason Garrett and Rob Ryan will have some say in who we draft.

I must have missed when they became proven talent evaluators.

I'm still undecided about Watts, I know he's not worth a top ten pick but I do believe he's first round material.

Alright, let's say they tell the scouts this is the type of player or players we need on defense and offense, show us who they are.

Right. That's what should happen.

I mentioned JG & RR to counter the notion that Jerry is going to be in there just doing whatever the frick he wants and making all the decisions.

The buzz is Garrett is a scout guy. Which makes sense considering his family background.

Coaches shouldn't dictate draft picks. Scouts should. Your GM should be your head scout. That's laughable here. So we go down a level to the director of scouting. Another joke in Dallas. Down one more level. That brings us to the first real qualified voice in the war room. Tom Ciskowski. That's the guy who should decide the picks.

The coaches need to communicate on what kind of players they want. The scouts should identify who those players are.

If it's run any other way, it's failure.
