I didn't watch a lot of Jaguar football this year. I saw a game early and a game late and in both, he was starting. Regardless, he played a lot more than Arkin.

We shouldn't be ready to label Arkin a bust but we should be worried that despite a revolving door at left guard, he was never considered.

He was considered, very early in training camp. Then they saw he wasnt ready yet and reshirted him.

Also, Rackley played at a smaller football program than Arkin yet was more NFL ready.

Isnt much difference between those football programs CMD

Also, maybe it just means that whatever jacksonville had on the OL was alot more suckage than what we had, which is likely.

At one time I'd have preferred we took Payton Manning in the 4th rd too, but the fact is he wasnt going to be there. Neither was Murray.

Well it's easy to say that now, because we saw what Murray hads done, but he was coming off an injury wasn't he, when he was drafted?

he never had a major injury at OU, he had a few nagging ones but nothign serious...most draft guides I saw had him going in the 2nd or 3rd rd

Welol I'm more than happy with Murray. Would be quite nice to see him behind a solid Oline.

because of the last 2 off-seasons.

They just seem to have a severe blind spot and it's maddening.

We always throw around the "get 2 studs and leave no doubt" idea every offseason. Maybe it's easier said than done, but they always bypass talent staring them in the face

In 2009, the year we were supposed to be the first team to play in their own house for the Superbowl, we didn't sign a single free agent. We didn't even bring in one potential free agent for a visit. So not only do we overestimate our own talent, we're arrogant asses about it too.

Then add further insult to injury we have the infamous backup draft.

I guess technically it was the 2010 off-season.

2010 Off-season = no free agent additions (or visits)
2011 Off-season = We "stole" Abe Elam and Kenyon Coleman from the mighty Browns
2012 Off-season = Please Jerry, make a valid effort to improve this team.

I think he has to now. I'm not saying go crazy in FA and buy every high priced one. He and the staff have to see the pathetic oline play and feel obligated to make a change. Youre in a position to really improve it by getting either Grubbs or Nicks while drafting one of the best OG prospects in recent memory. Which just so happens to be our most glaring weakness.

If we miss out on Nicks or Grubbs because we got outbid then that's one thing, but if we don't even make an offer then this management is more of a fucktard than I thought.

We're gonna probably add more free gent starters than the last several seasons combined this year. They know what the issues are and for the first time in quite some time, have cap flexibility to do something about it.

And they did try to add one major impact player last year, but we got outbid by quite a bit by the Eagles for the guy. So it isnt like they made no effort.
