Before you say both, I think we all know that the team is going to go into next season expecting Arkin or Nagy to take the lead at one guard spot.

With that in mind, who would you prefer to start at the opposite guard spot? Carl Nicks or David DeCastro.

And as an aside, what is the likelihood we'd even pursue Nicks. Has the team ever expressed interest (pre-draft, etc), or have the Saints made any mention of Franchise Tagging him?

I say give me Nicks. Let us go in another direction with the 14th pick. Take the best pass rusher, or trade down and maybe get Konz.

This. Plus, what's the chances of us taken another offensive lineman with our first pick.

We'll have to wait and see what's available at the time of our pick, but yeah, maybe the chances of landing a top notch LB, DE, or CB are there. Somehow getting Konz would be nice too.

The Saints gave Jahri Evans a big contract last year, so it's a distinct possibility that he could walk into free agency. Of course DeCastro would be less expensive. So that's something to consider although money might not be an object for the Cowboys this free agent period.

I think if we sign Carl Nicks to a huge deal, have either Arkin or Nagy win the other OG spot, and draft Peter Konz in the 1st round, we could shore up more things than one.

I want us to sign Chilo Rachal (much cheaper than Nicks or Grubbs) AND draft DeCastro. With those 2 at Guard, DeMarco Murray may lead the league in rushing. This makes Tony Romo that much better and keeps our crappy defense off the field.

There are a lot of quality guards out there who could be had for much cheaper than Nicks: Jake Scott of the Titans, Chad Rhinehart of the Bills.

+1. And have Kowalski at Center.

Let it be known this wouldn't even be neccessary had we drafted Will Rackley in the third last year when we had the chance.

Just because Costa was bad, doesn't have anything to do with Kowalski. I look at the guy's play, his draft status is irrelevant. And more than likely had we not drafted Nagy, he would have been undrafted. I mean really.... there's such a big deal between a 7th rounder and a UFDA.

The scouting report on Kowalski wasn't very good.

Rackley? What did he do this yr?

Arkin could easily end up being better than him.

Thats not true. there were a couple of the so called dfraft gurus who were pretty high on Kowalski. One of them even said Kowalski was the best player who wasnt drafted.

Rackley started. I don't think Arkin played a down. Now remember David, a player isn't automatically better than the other guy just because he has a star on his helmet.

Still, DeMarco Murray > Rackley

I didn't watch a lot of Jaguar football this year. I saw a game early and a game late and in both, he was starting. Regardless, he played a lot more than Arkin.

We shouldn't be ready to label Arkin a bust but we should be worried that despite a revolving door at left guard, he was never considered.
