Giants' Sean Locklear suffers apparent serious knee injury

Sean Locklear, who has started in fill-in duty at both left and right tackle this season, was carted off during the fourth quarter of Monday night’s game against the Redskins with a serious knee injury, Jenny Vrentas of the Newark Star-Ledger reports.

Locklear’s right leg was bent awkwardly after it got rolled up on during a running play. Locklear slammed the ground and looked to be in excruciating pain as he was taken off the field.

Afterward, coach Tom Coughlin only confirmed a knee injury for Locklear.

Don't forget Philly @ Tampa Bay although I think Tampa Bay wins easily. As a matter of fact, I think the Vikings will beat the Bears as well.

This won't be a good week for us depending on other teams to lose. Plus, we probably lose against the Bengals.

Sorry to be so negative.

Remaing schedules for NFC East:

Giants (7-5) Saints, at Falcons, at Ravens, Eagles
Redskins (6-6) Ravens, at Browns, at Eagles, Cowboys
Cowboys (6-6) at Bengals, Stealers, Saints, at Redskins

Its clear the Redskins have the easiest schedule remaining. It isnt that far fetched that the Giants might go 2-2 or 1-3. The redskins would seem to be a cinch to go at least 2-2 and running the table isnt out of the question.

If there is a 3 way tie, right now the Redskins have the best division record (3-1) followed by us (3-2) and the Giants (2-3). Right now the Giants have the best conference record at 6-3, folllowed by Washington (6-5) and then us (5-5)

If we were to finish 3-1 and tie for the lead at 9-7, I think there's no way we can lose to the Saints or the Redskins and make the playoffs. If they are going to lose a game, then losing to the Bengals ot Stealers would be less costly.

I'm mostly updating only because we're not completely eliminated yet. But I really don't think we're in serious contention for the division. I expect a loss this Sunday.

Guard James Carpenter will be out the rest of the season after being placed on the reserve/non-football illness list, Danny O'Neil of the Seattle Times reports

Carpenter left Sunday's game after feeling pain in his surgically repaired left knee. Details on what constitutes the non-football illness were not immediately available from the Seahawks' release.

Remaining schedule for other WC contenders:

Seattle (8-5 overall, 6-4 NFC) at Bills, Niners, Rams
Chicago (8-5, 5-4) Packers, at Cardinals, at Lions
Washington (7-6, 6-4) at Browns, at Eagles, Cowboys
Dallas (7-6, 5-5) Steelers, Saints, at Redskins
Minnesota (7-6, 5-5) at Rams, at Texans, Packers
St Louis (6-6-1, 5-3-1) Vikings, at Bucs, at Seahawks

Seattle, Chicago and right now Washington all own head to head tie breakers with us.

James Carpenter is one of the players I wanted next to DeCastro. Say what you want, but you have to admire as to how the Seahawks and 49ers have gone about building their Oline. Fuck the sexy pics.

doesn't seem like our chances of winning a tiebreaker-even a 3 team tiebreaker for the 6th seed, is even remotely likely.

I knew it was a long shot-but it's worse than I thought.

I think the only way we get in is win out. Giants aren't going to lose to Baltimore AND Atlanta. They'll at least split those. We have to go 3-0 to tie them. If we went 3-0 Wash would be behind us. If we win the tiebreakers with the Giants, we're in.

If we go 3-0 we would also have an outside shot at a WC. Bears or Seahawks would have to go 1-2. Each is possible, especially the Bears with GB and @ Det on the schedule. Seahawks have SF and STL left. But if we lose one game, one of those would have to go 0-3, because we would lose tiebreakers with both.
