It was their first year together. They could easily go on from here and win several rings.

I'd say they'd almost have to win next year to justify keeping that team together.

Oh.. if LeBron is acting like a bitter, insecure child already.. i can't wait to see what he has to say if they don't win a championship next year either haha.

He'll continue to say wait until next year.

Isn't there a new CBA on the horizon for the NBA and possibly a more restrictive cap?

If that's the case, they may have to make changes. But making it to game 6 of the finals in the first year together is hardly a failure. IMO, they are the clear cut favorites to win it all next year.

You know the the Bulls and Celtics, and even the Magic watched those Finals and got a gleam in their eyes.

Although many in the media,it seemed, were ready to hand the Heat the trophy out of the gate, the Eastern conference is fairly stout at the top.

The Heat will have their hands full getting through the playoffs next year.

I really don't think so. Unless there's some changes in the rosters. IMO, the Heat were still learning how to play together and still dominated the East in the postseason. I think they are all the more dominant next year.

They could be. I'm rooting against them. There's no denying the talent they have.

I just consider it failure. They have an all-star team on the floor every night compared to what the rest of the league has. They ran into Dirk and hit a wall. I honestly wouldn't say there's another player on the Mavs that I'd rank in the top 50 active players. Not Kidd, not Terry and certainly not Marion.

They did look good in the last couple of months,no doubt about it.

I dont care either way for Dirk, but I am glad Mark Cuban got his championship.

He does own the team still, right? I haven't watched much espn in the last couple of years. Last I heard from him, he was bitching about having to abide by the sideline dress code.

Yeah, Cuban might get my vote for best owner in sports.

He showed real class allowing the Mavs former owner take the trophy first. And further class by refusing to let the city pay for the parade. He's footing the bill himself.

That guy is aces in my book. I wish he owned one of my teams.

..and they're still going to be learning how to play together 6 years from now with the way that team is structured. That's what happens when you put 3 superstars who all demand the ball on the same team. Not enough touches to go around, then you get to the point where you're trying to force touches to people and it just takes away from the natural flow of the offense. They will struggle the entire time that team is together, especially if they don't win a championship soon. The ego's will ruin the chemistry.

Yea, when Marky Mark actually shuts his mouth and is humble he's not half bad. Jerry should take notes.

I couldn't agree more. I've always liked Cuban as an owner.

Classy moves by him with the gestures you mentioned.

Hey, Mark, please buy the Cowboys when Jerry dies.

Everything LeBron does brings more eyeballs to the NBA and just creates more interest.

Im just not one to really ever hate on cockiness or look-at-me play b/c ultimately its harmless. It helps create more drama. Half the time the players dont even care about the game so anything to create tension and excitement so Im all for it and thats why I like LeBron. Hell, he got all you crackers to watch and talk about the NBA

And hes the best player in the league

Kobe is 10 times the player that LeBron will ever be. James may be a better athlete, but he doesn't have the heart to be one of the all time greats.

I disagree. I think he cares so much that he was nervous and had no confidence in his jumper. Everyone knows thats a shaky thing and can be influenced by your temperament

James is an isolation player. If he can get a 1 on 1 he will torch his defender nearly every time. The problem with that is this is a team game and Dallas played a good zone.

I disagree. Hes great at 1 on 1 but hes much better on the fast break and as a distributor. He doesnt have the array of mid-range moves like Kobe does to truly dominate 1 on 1. Hes a put his head down and get his team a wide open 3 player. They will pick up some more bodies next year and they will get shots to fall

The best player in the league doesn't fold when it counts and lose confidence in himself and get nervous on the big stage.. which is why LeBron is NOT the best player in the league. Most ability i'll give you, but not the best.

Also, his play has nothing to do with why people dislike him (although im not even sure that's true anymore if you ask Heat fans after this series ha).
