Ummm, no. The Clippers will be a much improved team this year. They brought in Billups and Butler...while adding one of the premier PGs in the game. Gordon is a stud, but Kaman is in the last year of his deal, and Aminu is still a project. The Minn pick could be very valuable, but you have to give that up to gt a player the stature of Paul. Think of the damage Paul did with Chandler...now he has two bigs that he can oop and set up to. Props to the Clips for getting him.

The Clippers might over take the Lakers now. They already had a decent team. CP3 just makes them that much better.

I don't think they overtake the Lakers, but I could see them pass Denver, Portland, and Memphis...somewhere right in the 4-6 seed.

The Lakers have another move in them...they have that massive trade exception and although Odom wanted out, I don't think they made that deal without another one in mind.

They'll have a decent team this year.. they won't be beating any of the big dogs in the West come playoff time though.. and after Paul's contract is up they'll be left with nothing.

I think he will re-up without hesitation. He is going to be with Griffin and I would be willing to bet they could get a 3rd big name to come there with them.

If you're a Clips fan, then i hope you're right for your sake.. i just highly doubt he resigns there. Griffin and Paul arn't enough.

I am not a Clippers fan, but it is LA and Griffin and Jordan are guys a PG like Paul should want to play with. There is no reason they cannot add one more guy to the mix and roll a big 3 out there of their own. Griffin being there is changing the culture of that franchise.

With the way the salary cap adjusts in 2 years there is a huge possibility he will be in the best situation with the Clippers.

Where else could he go and get paid as well as play with that caliber of players?

Im not sure how the salary cap adjusts in 2 years at all, but if the Clips can get him to reup good for them. Real competition between the LA teams would be fun to watch.

Deron is pretty much a lock for the Mavs. Dwight might follow.

I grew up with a decent amount of a Cowboys/Lakers/Yankees fans. It's an insult to liking sports really.

Why would they do that? They get way more money and are a better team in Brooklyn

Before you say it: State income tax is only for like the 48 games they play in Texas

It's about a $5 mil difference for Deron without including NY city taxes. Lebron and Bosh took a paycut to both be in Miami. Same thing could happen here. Plus, he wants to play in Dallas. Those were his words. His coach in Jersey is one of the worst and actually even said that Williams might leave for Dallas also. Plus, our owner has actually been around consistently. Prokerov rolled in, expected to be able to sign Lebron with his billions, got slapped in the face, and then promptly rolled the fuck out of town and we've never heard from him again. Last I heard is that he's running for president of some siberian country out there. Doesn't sounds like a very player-friendly franchise to me. Retarded coach, missing owner, and no real future except a move to Brooklyn.

Oh and they have to get through Miami, Chicago, and the Knicks just to have a chance at the finals each year. The western conference is much easier to win. If rings matter to these guys, they'll consider leaving. The potential for success with an owner like Cuban and a stellar coach like Carlisle can't be ignored.

Deron's contract:
Nets $73,446,514
Mavs $68,023,239
Diff -$5,423,275

You're half making a serious argument b/c I can give you like 10 links where you're wrong about most of that

Derons kid brother just moved to ny for school
Deron is lining up all sorts of bk themed endorsements
Deron gets a 5th year on his deal here. He's 27. That's $30M
Dwight reportedly has a $200M NY only adidas contract

Doesnt it seem kind of silly to think you can poach 2 of our guys when they're lining up all sorts of things in BK AND on top of that they take a pay cut?

We haven't even gotten Into if the nets get Anthony Davis and/or Josh smith. Smith is dwights childhood friend. Nobody is friends w/ dirk he's from Switzerland

Deron could have signed his extension months ago if he was serious about staying. Durant did it in OKC.

The Nets have no other pieces if they sign Dwight and Deron to max contracts. That doesn't even make them better than the Knicks, muchless Miami or Chicago.

Nobody has taken the Nets seriously since the ABA days.

Learn the game. Taco deron makes more money by opting out and signing a new deal.

No other pieces? Lopez, top 5 pick, cap room.

Youre on cowboys&lakers level of ignorance

Dwights demanding a trade to the nets
Deron said 95% he re-signs. 100% if Dwight comes

Must mean they want to take paycuts to sign in Dallas :Dunce

Anyone who think Lopez is a "piece" for anything is clearly retarded.

Thought Lebron was coming there. Had Jay-Z sucking his penis.

That worked out well...

it only works if you move.

Seriously though, how many marquis FAs are we up to now that you've been convinced are coming to NJ only to watch them go elsewhere?

How many have asked to go the nets for months as the new arena is putting in the final light fixtures?
