Stupid post of the day.

The players and coaches make up 2/3 of the probowl vote now, right?

I'm dismissing the 2/3 votes that the players and fans make in deciding who goes to the Pro Bowl. Players are only watching game films of their opponents, and that's just the Dline watching the Oline mainly. Fans? Fucking forget about them.

I give credence only to the coaches who know how to analyze film and pinpoint exactly who is a Pro Bowl player from one who is not, and even then I don't think they're being that analytical when deciding who to vote for. You know as well as I do that the Pro Bowl is reputation based and thus, a joke.

What happened when the Giants blitzed the tar out of us, or the Vikings in the playoffs?

I dont recall either of them blitzing the tar out of us.

In fact in the Giants game, our OL was running over the front seven the entire first half. We lost that game because Owens and Romo played at far less than 100%, and the 4th quarter officiating was a joke.

The Vikings DL just overwhelmed us after Adams went out with an injury. Colombo played arguably the worst game I've ever seen an OL play that day, and clearly should have never been activated for the playoffs in the first place.

The point is is that Gurodes football acumen, or lack thereof, has been holding our line back and thus the team for years.

Funny how the only people I ever hear say that are people who post in fan forums.

You're right, the Vikings didn't blitz the hell out of us, they just kicked the tar out of the line using only four rushers.

Admit it, when the going gets tough, our line has folded. For years.

It's funny how Gurode's days are numbered here and only you can't see that. Or that our line hasn't been worth a shit with Gurode the starting C. Even when we trotted out 3 Pro Bowlers and a very solid Colombo and Kosier.

I never said they werent. What I think is ridiculous is the idea that he's been a lousy or subpar player and that various other issues within the team could be blamed on him, when for SEVERAL years he's been universally considered one of the best Centers in the NFL.

I fully expect this will be his last yr here.

It's funny as to how no other publication is reporting this and yet you are treating it as gospel. The National Football Post...LOL.

I think Roy and Jacque Reeves getting burnt near the end of the half on that pass play, is what set the stage.

Both Admas and Free held their own against Jaredd Allen. It was Ray Edwards that was killing us, due to Colombo.

I'm not even so sure about that. I can see him being here next year, and depending on Costa's progression, moved to guard fulltime.

I'm not taking anything as gospel, it's just obvious as hell that Costa, Arkin and Nagy are in the near-future plans on the inside. Kosier was just extended, leaving Gurode as the odd man out.

And that was Gurode's fault?

I tend to think a Center who needs help with his line calls is largely responsible, yes.

Gurode probably fits more into the rw, igor, mb3, Davis, Colombo group then anyone. Problem is that kind of turnover on the line. Counting on 3 unknowns when the pick wouldn't be great and not too much in contract savings

Who knew that some high snaps from 3 years ago would still cause so much anguish in some fans?

But that's not why we lost that game. No amount revisionism will change that.

You don't think that not everyone being on the same page because the C can't make the calls, will cause breakdowns on the line?

You act like there is some rule that the C must make all line calls, when we have heard numerous coaches mention in the past that alot of teams have different guys make the line calls.

Why would having someone else make line calls be a bad thing?

I don't recall the NFL moving away from the center's primary responsibility making the line calls. So until 32 NFL teams go that route, I'm gonna assume that that job still exists for them.

It makes no sense for the line calls coming from one half of the line. You get a C in who can do that.

Sure, lets throw nothing but rooks and 2nd years out there that were drafted in later round and see!!! We may not go to the Superbowl this year with Gurode on the Roster, but at least Tony Romo ain't going to be going to the Morgue.

Whether you believe that Gurode can play or not is irrelevant. Until the time comes that we can trust this Oline to keep Tony upright without him in it in a regular season game. I don't see that shit happening. Getting rid of two O line in one year is a huge step, throwing the God damn center in there to boot when you don't have to is asinine.

It's like trading in your used car when there isn't anything wrong with it except the door sticks a little and replacing it with a fucking bike right now. You keep the guy, give the new guy a chance to step up with the old guy still on the roster without any problems or you do it your way, throw them all away and pray Romo can just will the broken bones together from week to week should your Rookie line fail.

Right now Gurode can play Left Guard, Right Guard, Center and Tackle if asked to. I only recall him being penalized like twice in the last 5 years. He doesn't get beat. I don't know what the fuck your issue is with him except to just get a younger guy in there when we could just keep Gurode, season the guy and just go from there on.
