Exactly. I've seen teams bracket a player a million times. I've never seen an NFL team put a punt coverage press on a WR before that play.

Yeah that was really amazing. If its happened before I don't remember it.

But, he wouldn't.
What am I missing? Are you proposing a franchise tag and trying to trade? You'd have to be prepared to pay him a $12 million salary next year if you can't trade him

Otherwise he's a free agent

It's the dates you're missing. He does not become a free agent automatically after the season is over.

Shopping him can start now, it doesn't have to wait.

If you don't sign him you're in a hard boat too, franchise tag may have to apply. We somehow didn't get a deal done and no one knows why.

Therefore take this opportunity to test the marketplace. Discreetly, of course.

Wasn't RWII going to be a FA at the end of the season when we traded for him? If we're in rebuilding mode (which I think we are or at least should be), I trade Dez if the price is right.

If someone wants to give me a 1st and a 2nd they have my attention. We traded a 3rd to move up two spots to get him anyway.

If he really is all that great I think a 1st and 2nd is fair. Might could even get more from the right team that thinks Dez is a big missing piece of the puzzle to get to the SB.

That makes it understandable right? They would much rather let another of our players get the first down, just not this Dez guy. Just like when it first started, with Bates. "We're gonna let some other Cowboy make the tackle on this kickoff." Touche'.

Is it game planning?
It's not necessarily one or the other. It's not intimidation. It might not have been a part of the "game plan" originally, but once they got desperate enough to get a stop they decided that they would force Romo to throw elsewhere. And it worked, since Bailey had to kick a 48 yarder after that.

Oh my goodness, the Bill Bates shit all over again. And to answer an earlier question, yes, Dez is our best player. Top 5 wide out in league, young guy, no injury history. Keep him.

Even in the light of a trade offer of a 1st and 2nd for him?

Are you for or against shopping him at least?

You can't say Bates wasn't game planned then say Dez was when opponents did the same shit to both guys. It either is or isn't. The Minnesota Vikings are on fucking videotape, rehearsing for Bates in practice. And just about every Dallas opponent was doing that. They were taking time out of their busy practice schedule to try to stop him.

I just saw somebody here say people knock Dez for getting "banged up alot." I'm not one of those, but it's out there.

Guys, just tell Doomsday that Bill Bates deserves to be in the Ring of Honor and he will stop with all of this trade Dez nonsense.

Doomie, Bill Bates is the best.

Actually, this was done on the first play of the game. I think it was their way of saying Bryant wouldnt beat them. He then proceeded to beat them.

The idea of trading a potential future Hall of Fame player is a waste of brain power.

And I never said Bates wasn't game planned against. I just wish you'd take is cock out of your mouth. Dez is light years better than Bates on his best Sunday.

Are they at the END of their contracts? or mired in the middle of big ones?

Graham got franchised because they couldn't agree on a contract last offseason and Thomas was drafted the same year as Dez, so yeah they were.

I feel like you tried to put down 20 names of players that can do what Dez does and was like Eric Decker? Fuck, no one will take me serious anymore. (Might already be to late anyways)
