At CZ they said some myopic ES skin fans really believe the Boys and Eagles moved up for defensive players in the draft because they are worried about a rookie QB who hasn't thrown an NFL pass yet....:roythehammer

Who when the next time he goes through the progressions to find a open receiver it will be the first time....:roythehammer

What's even funnier is the Rams wanted our 5th too(for Mo C.) but we said no and the Rams relented stating that they had already fleeced the skins...lol

Rebuilding, only they started a year late.

You don't give up two 1st round draft picks if you are rebuilding. Shanahan is trying to win NOW! It's always been 'now' when he first arrived. Shanahan and the rest of you Redskins are under the impression that you are just a QB away from competing and so you gave up the farm. That doesn't suggest rebuilding.

I forgot you can't acquire a good QB when you're rebuilding. Never mind that 18 of the 22 projected starters for this year weren't starting pre-Shannahan and that's if Moss is still a starter.

What do you think happens if Shanahan has another losing season, especially if it results in a top 10 pick or top 5 for that matter... for the Rams?

He might get fired and deservedly so because he completely blew the 2010 offseason, which should have been the beginning of the rebuilding process but instead could be what costs him his job. (IE keeping as many draft picks as you can and playing them)

The point is the roster has been rebuilt and when you put your faith in a rookie QB you have more than the next couple of years in mind. I still think they'd be in a much better positions if they kept all the draft picks they had in 2010 (meaning McNabb and Brown never wear a Redskins jersey) and let them play early and often. Time will tell if that was a fatal mistake for Shannahan.

You think losing two 1st round draft picks is not going to hurt you guys in the long or short run or both?

It's not ideal but if they're right about Griffin it'll all balance out. A small silver lining is they didn't give up too many picks in the same draft so in terms of volume of picks it wasn't that bad. I will say this though, without the 2011 draft to sort of fall back on this could have ended up bad and they need to make sure they get as much as they can out of those players because the potential is there. All depends on Griffin though.

I can argue Crawford was a reach too, only I won't because I think he's a good player and I'm not an armchair scout that lives and dies by who is a hot name on ESPN.

I guess you could, not really sure what this has to do with anything.

But almost everyone had him as a solid 3rd rd pick, so not sure you could call him a "reach"

Who's everyone? Media publications and various pundits? A couple of them had LeRibeus rated as a 3-4 round pick.

You laughed when the Redskins took a player that wasn't a hot name, but at the same time you were telling everyon in the draft thread who was complaining about the Matt Johnson pick to reserve judgment until he actually plays. Which is it?

I laughed because a team that drafted a potential franchise QB and had no 1st rd pick for the enxt 2 seasons, plus no second this yr wasted a fairly premium pick (considering the lack of future 1's and the lack of a 2nd this yr) on another QB

I would think they'd want to use whatever picks they have getting the new franchise QB help, not getting a clipboard carrier in the hope that maybe they could flip it for something down the road.
