Jerry Jones once again explains why he’s the Cowboys GM

No doubt, pep. One thing I think people underestimate sometimes is his huge desire to be buddies with his players, especially his pet projects. There are plenty of examples over the years, but just look at Pacman on Hard Knocks. Jerry loved the fact that he "saved" Pacman and Pacman then gave Jerry tons of love for it. He's not going to let a coach kick the butt of a player like that even when they need it.

So yeah, that problem is always going to be there. When I talk about change, I just mean a better coaching staff like with Parcells. As much as Jerry as GM is less than ideal, he's still not to blame for disorganization, mental errors, and poor scheming on the field. With better coaches who knew what they were doing, I think we'd at least be much better, even if not ever a New England type near-dynasty.

This is funny. Like buddy Garrity who just wants to be one of the boys again. Slapping asses in the locker room post game like he was out there.

The problem is he thinks he is successful. He looks at the overall value of the franchise as a success, and it is, for a businessman. He has also said many times that he was the "General Manager" during the Super Bowl years so in his mind, he was a successful GM. He always thinks he's put out a good product and we were just a few breaks, injuries, or whatever bs he can come up with, away from going on a magical playoff run JUST LIKE THE GIANTS.

He must think he's doing something right. I'd be well out of a job if I kept using success from 20 + years ago to measure my current status.

Unfortunately, his progeny is obviously going to take the reins when his day is done and it probably won't change much in that day either.

The problem is there was a time when Al Davis was great. Jerry has never been great. Al Davis forgot more about football then Jerry will ever know.

Al Davis was a career football guy. He was an assistant at USC and with the Chargers. His problem, much like Jerry's, is that early success dictated the way he thought the rest of his career.
