I recaped Jerry's interview for my amigobros...

Paraphrased out of quotation marks. Direct quotes in quotation marks.

On how he felt after Sundays game - Very disappointed. Redskins weren't fully healthy. RG3 was limited. We went in to their house and played on their terms but felt we had a chance.

"It says a lot to me because I know the Redskins are a team we're going to be playing a lot in the future. Theres no reason to think they won't get better, although they're pretty limited under the cap because of the restrictions that the league put on them. We have some of our own. When you look at what the Giants are with Eli Manning; it's ridiculous to think the Eagles won't be coming and coming strong. Teams are really able to rebound and become contenders in one year."

Mentioned you have to look at matchups and how you matchup within the division. Redskins game showed him we have a lot of work to do.

From Thanksgiving day on we were playing games that were critical as to whether we made the playoffs or not, and we dropped the last two. "Thats a concern of mine too."

Asked about his comment about quick turnarounds and if that makes the last 15 years all the more frustrating.

"Well I think the reality is were in a league that wants parity. They want to have it to where you come down to the last couple of weekends and you have a lot of teams that have the opportunity to get into the playoffs. And because of parity you have the opportunity to win once you get into the playoffs. If you don't do something, if you don't do something almost unconventional then you really don't break out of that cycle. I know that when I first got involved with the Cowboys we traded Herschel Walker. We didn't have free agency at that time. We traded Herschel Walker and we had our picks which were low picks or high picks in the draft and we had Minnesotas picks. And those picks gave us two or three times more firepower to get more players than any other team in the NFL. And we were able to take that and really get a team in place that was able to win Championships for several years. Now, thats all history and we all know that. But how do we some create an opportunity to break out of this cycle, drive accross the water if you will, and thats the challege that I have. "

Talked about the risks Washington took in getting RG3 and "put an offense in around him that complimented some of their philosophies but did change."

"We've got to look at how we can do that. We've got Tony Romo, and I'm proud that we've got him. Real proud that we've got him. But uh, Jason and Tony Romo have been working together for 6 years. 6 football seasons. So we've got to figure out a way not to ahhhh... ahhh..... not to have some of the things. We played with the lead on 23% of the time. Now that's a figure that was third from the bottom in the NFL, only bedhind Oakland and Kansas City. We've got to do better than that. We've got to look at what we're doing offensively. We certainly got to look at what we're doing defensively. We've got to do that at this time."

Asked about Tony Romo and the core of the team, where his patience is with them.

"My patience isn't an issue. The real issue is we have Tony Romo, and we have a quarterback I have all the confidence in the world in. And our team needs to use his experience, needs to use what he does best. We need to use that to do things offensively that maximizes that. That's what the team did that we played on Sunday. They used their personnel. Those two guys, that quarterback and that running back - those two were playing in college this time last year. But here they are in the NFL and they've given that team a chance along with uh really good coaching. They've given this team a chance to compete, so uh we will analyze where our assetts are but how we use them are very very important.

One thing we need to do is spend a lot of time working on fundamentals for this football team. Tackling. Blocking. Fundamentally... uh... knowing where we line up. All of these kinds of things are things we need to improve on."

Interviewer tried to ask another question and Jerry re-emphasized how much we needed to work on fundamentals.

Asked about what do you say to fan who's tired of Romo?

We got a better chance to make the SB with Romo. Isn't ready to take the risks that Denver or Washington took to get a QB.

Started talking again about how we need to work on fundamentals like blocking and tackling. "We've got schemes here that should work. We got to work on the fundamentals."

He's really, really emphasizing fundamentals.

This mean you're giving Romo an extension?

Wouldn't commit to that. Said he was pleased with where we were with Romo and the future. Said "thats all I want to say about that at this time."

Do you want Garrett as the playcaller

"We're not having that meeting. You're talking to someone who runs that meeting and so, we're not having that meeting this morning. I'm not ready to have that kind of meeting and I'm not real sure when I'll be ready to have that meeting."

Interviewer says Well the reason I ask...

Jerry interrupts "I KNOW why you ask but if I say it, it means we've had the meeting. I aint even had the meeting on it. I'm going to spend a lot of time, just so you're clear... I’m going to spend a lot of time visiting with people outside of the organization that I have a lot of confidence in that will help us evaluate how to do the things that I know what our fans want to do, and that’s not be sitting here at .500. There are a lot of teams that haven’t been at .500, but nobody hasn’t been at .500 and spent as much cash as I’ve spent."

"Like I said, we've been doing some of the same things. Jasons been in charge of our offense for the last 6 years. And Wade pretty much let him dictate what we were doing offensively. And we've got to look at that and say 'Hey how do we best use these assetts we got today?"

Rambled on more about using resources. Didn't make a lot of sense so not recapped.

Do you address this team and change as the one that struggled at 3-5, or one that finished 5-3?

"I can tell you change is neccessary at 8-8. Change is neccessary when we go into the last two seasons, the last game, which has it's plusses. But if we play well in those last two games (we) can be sitting in the playoffs with an opportunity if you get there, to go to the Super Bowl. Now change is in order if you spend two seasons in a row down to your last game of the season and lose them both. So we're gonna have changes. "

Is Rob Ryan returning

In a very aggravated tone: "Men I told you we're not going to sit here this morning and have a meeting like this. I've got a lot of work to do. I've got a lot of people I want to speak with to have an input with this. So we're not going to have any meeting this morning that says we're gonna do this we're gonna do that. Do y'all think I'm nuts?"

We gotta ask these

Reitterates not answering them now and how he wants to look within the rules and make some changes and that we got to come out of these end of year situations better.

Wants fans to know he's irritated. Knows we had injuries but "the teams we played had injuries."

Talked about how this time next year we'll have injuries again. Said again, somewhat out of place IMO that "we need to find a way to maximize what Tony does best."

Interrupted the next question and said "I can assure our fans this, and I can assure you guys this, it's going to be very uncomfortable around Valley Ranch for the next few weeks."

Thanks for caring about each and every one of us.

How did you find the interview? The Fan's website is so bad. Almost impossible to locate their podcasts. Anyway.

Holy shat. That's actually a good stat from Jerry. Very telling.

You can listen to the interview about halfway down the page.

If you read it, theres some pretty telling comments in there.

Really emphasizes a need to work on fundamentals (sign of a poorly coached team) and how long Garrett has been in control of the offense, but we need to maximize what Romo does best.

He doesn't sound like a big Garrett fan, truthfully.

Hey Jerry, you hired and promoted Garrett. You put that fucking shitting offensive line onto the field. Provided little depth at important positions. Good to hear about change, but he needs to look at himself first.

Unless he's talking about the GM, Garrett, Ryan or Romo, I don't care.

Yeah.
The starting 22 is pretty much all this team has,and some of them ain't all that great.
When guys are being introduced to each other at practice or even on the team plane late in the season, you have serious issues in your personnel dept.

Hes not talking about any of those.

hes mad as fuck at the injury bug. He thinks its a real bug, and he's having the field sprayed as we speak.

And because of parity you have the opportunity to win once you get into the playoffs. If you don't do something, if you don't do something almost unconventional then you really don't break out of that cycle. - Jerry

Uh-oh, I don't like the sound of that. The gears are going to start turning in his head and we all know how that always turns out.

I was actually wondering what Jerry was going to do for a splash this off season.

You know he has to do something to re-invigorate the fanbase.

Which makes me nervous for the draft.

This super rubbed me the wrong way. idk if it's just hearing him whine about how much he's spent or if it shows a fundamental problem with his idea that he should be able to just throw money at it and get results but I didn't like it.

He'll take a tight end in the second. Afterall, you have to use a second rounder to get a good tight end, right?

Oh, we took Jason Witten in the third? I stand corrected.
