Per FoxSports:

Aiello also indicated an extension of the current CBA is possible if both sides agree, postponing or preventing either an owner lockout or a player union decertification.

Yeah. It's a possibility. But I'm hoping the owners play hardball and break the union.

I'm fine with no football in 2011, if need be.

I agree to an extent, but we could have been set up pretty good for 2011 with a normal offseason. Love the staff we put together, Garrett's a massive upgrade as a HC and Ryan is a huge plus. Romo will be back. We have a couple very obvious holes that a decent free agent crop would have made a big difference in, and then we could have have had the icing on the cake with the draft.

I also think the team could have hugely benefitted from a real offseason of work. Since Garrett is considered a "new" HC, he was allowed an extra mini camp. Ryan's defense is also more complex than Wade's, and the team needs all the work they can on it in the minicamps and preseason.

This just give me football at all costs attitude is what has created these salaries. It's why the common fan is being priced out of seeing these games live, why the Sunday ticket costs a mint, why NFL merchandise is so expensive.

If the players get their way, the owners will see to it to get some of that money back from the only source they have. The fans.

I say enough is enough. These players are way out of line and if it takes missing a football season to bring back some sanity I'm all for it.

Of course this is probably an unrealistic view. The owners aren't concerned with anything other than their own wallet. But at least they are less likely to raise prices if they win this negotiation.

+1

We're the ones that line their pockets. We're also the only ones really losing anything if the 2011 season is locked out.

I understand where most of you are coming from. No football in 2011 would suck. Neither side loses, it's us that have the most to lose. If the owners lockout the season, we Lise out on a football seasons worth of enjoyment. If the players win, the owners recoup the money by continuing to pocket rape us.

F the owners and the players. Neither side gives a shit about where all that money comes from. They just care how they can get their hands on it.

At what cost, BV?

I don't know if you attend games or pay for the Sunday Ticket, but when is enough, enough? When we're paying $600-$1,000 to watch 16 regular season games on TV?

Or what if they get real greedy and playoff games and super bowls go to a Pay Per View format? There has to be a ceiling.

I read an article not too long ago that said pay per view football will be a reality. It's just a question of when.

The game is getting harder to enjoy by the year anyway. I'd rather not be without football, but if that's what it takes to fix the money issue, bring it on.

Yeah, don't know if it was the same article or not,but sometime around the divisional round of the playoffs I read that it would happen sooner rather than later.

There's been talk for some years of giving another cable channel(TNT,VS,Spike)a package of Thurs or Fri night games. The success of the cable games on ESPN and NLFN has not gone unnoticed.

If they start playing around with PPV,and have success, the average fan will get crumbs.
