Funny how we drafted three corners that year and the only one worth a shit was Mario Edwards, the last one we took (6th round).

I think most of the problem we had was that our coaching staff was just so bad, and our teams were so void of leadership, and Cowboys players have such a sense of entitlement in a town that worships them that it was just a terrible combination and nearly impossible for any 22 year old suddenly rich kid to come in and succeed.

Goodrich especially. I remember Woodson commenting on him that Goodrich just wanted to party. Football was low on his priorities.

But we did draft some guys with 'potential.' Just too much to overcome at the time.

It's because we suck at personnel. Especially those first few Jimmy-free years. Jerry was so eager to show everyone he was the reason behind our success. Colossal failure after colossal failure every draft. Carver, Goodrich, Pittman, Ekuban, LaFleur. Just bad.

At one point it was pretty much a lock that Jerry's pick would bust.
