Depends on what you think of Gabbert.

Some guys think he's the real deal and a top 5 pick. Scouts Inc. has him 6th overall on their board right now.

Others think he's now getting overrated for the lack of top flight QB in this class with Lock staying in school.

I agree with the latter. But I've never been very good as evaluating college QBs. So I say that with no confidence whatsoever that I'm right.

And Kiper's latest Big Board has him at 8. So conceivably there's a very good chance he's there at 9 and is BPA.

As for Luck, no doubt his decision impacted this whole situation. But it is what it is. It happened last year too when Locker decided to stay in school.

Luck staying in school shouldn't effect what you think of Gabbert. If he's moving up your board simply because of the absence of Luck, then you're overrating him.

It's a waste of time to talk about this anyway. Your GM will not even consider drafting a QB at 9. He doesn't have that kind of foresight.

When healthy, Favre was still playing at a Pro Bowl level when Rodgers was drafted. So by the logic used by most here, they shouldn't have taken a QB.

.

I bet the Packers wouldnt have taken him if they had been drafting at 9, instead of the 20's where they took Rodgers at.

There's a big difference.

If this was the post Aikman era of the Quincy Carter, Clint Stoerner, and Chad Hutchinson show then it would it almost have to be a no brainer and not shy away from which of the top 3-4 QB's fell in our laps at number 9. This team has way more pressing needs and erosion at other key positions than QB. I for one hope they address the OL early in this draft as it has been ignored for far too long.

It's easy to have foresight whole being on a messageboard when it's not your money and franchise that's at stake.
