You can keep saying it all you want, but the fact is that in almost every professional league there is the players get at least 50 percent of the revenue. Its not greedy at all.. and the NFL players arn't asking for more. They're actually willing to take less than what the owners origionally agreed to give them, before they backed out of their agreement.

As for the prices that you all keep rabble rousing over.. they will continue to go up just as long as people are still willing to pay them, as is the same for any market.

You'll never convince me that the end result of this CBA won't have any effect on prices. It's completely naive to think so.

Anyone willing to spend the same money to watch replacements is a moron.

I don't understand that line of thinking. I support the Dallas Cowboys. Not the Tony Romos or DeMarcus Wares. If the Cowboys are playing, I'm watching.

It's all moot anyhow, we won't see replacements. A deal will get done, IMO.

It's about quality of play. That's the reasoning.

Well, the current quality of play in the NFL is inferior to what we saw in the early 90's before free agency and the salary cap. Yet the league is more popular now than ever.

I think all fans really care about is if their team is on the field and they have a shot to win.

Why...you little piss ant, go get an avatar before I paste one on you myself.

And yes it will effect us fans, do you think every fan in the NFL can afford these prices now?

Yeah, lets give the players what they want, and continue to screw the fans who can hardly pay their bills now.

Sunday Ticket prices will be $500.00 if this shit keeps up. A game ticket? Forget about it, because I haven't seen a live game since 1989. Why? because it's cheeper to watch it at home.

These owners keep increasing prices because these players are being paid too much, RIDICULOUS!

Are you that naive to think that the NFL or the Owners give a damn about if the average fan can pay their bills or not? Shit no, the market determins the prices. As long as people are willing to keep buying merchandise and coming to games, etc.. the prices will stay high. As long as enough fans continue to come to games and watch, they could give a shit about the little guys who might be getting priced out of coming to games. As long as i turn on my TV and i see stadiums filled up for games, it will continue. The demand is still there so the prices will remain high.

BTW.. its the owners who choose to pay these players such ridiculously high salaries by making ridiculously dumb decisions, so how can you blame the players? I'll say it again, if you're boss came to you and offered you a much higher salary you'd take it in a second. Anyone would.

Now we want to build these ridiculously expensive stadiums too with an xbox and a seperate kitchen and 4 leather recliners for every player and stripper poles and dancers, etc, etc.. and you're telling me its the players fault that prices have gone up so high?

Get real..

I see your point on the owners too, but they have to make up for what they spend on these players salaries.

That's where the extras come in for these stadiums, as far as affording it, I can, but I won't. The Cowboys items I have are gifts given to me, and I stay at home and watch the games, because it saves me money.

And also these owners have to go off of an average salary that's being paid to that position. For example on July 17, 2007 ... Dwight Freeney, the Indianapolis Colts' franchise player, signed a six-year, $72 million contract, Ware's going to want that kind of money.

And that's not even the most paid player in the NFL. I just find it ridiculous that's all.

CR the players make a percent of revenue no matter what the revenue is. Players get paid so much because of the extreme costs, it isn't the other way around. If the owners couldn't afford to pay that percent they wouldn't have agreed to it 20 years ago.

I agree some of these players salaries are getting out of hand, like Tommy Kelly getting 60 million or whatever, etc.. but you're placing the blame in the wrong area. Its the owners who decide to pay out these ridiculous salaries. If any of our bosses offered us that you know damn well we'd take it.

Yeah, your probably right.

Not probably.. name me one person who would go into their bosses office, have them offer them a huge contract to do something they love and have them turn it down?

Anyone who says they wouldn't take it is a liar.

I don't care about the players' complaints. I don't care about the owners' complaints. I just care what I spend to follow the league.

Go owners.

I mean, I've followed the NFL like a religion since I was knee high. I can honestly say it wouldn't phase me at all if none of the current players ever played again. That's how important they are to me.

Spare parts. Just slap some uniforms on somebody and play the games. I'll root for the Dallas Cowboys.

Exactly.

When Troy Aikman retired, did anybody stop rooting for Dallas since he was gone? No.

I pay next to nothing to follow football. I don't go to games (went to one because I had a free ticket) and I don't buy Sunday Ticket. I don't subscribe to any service that I wouldn't subscribe to without football, I've only ever bought one jersey and I have a limited collection of team gear and souvenirs. If the game goes PPV I will give it up, I don't need football to continue living. I don't care how much the game costs to other fans because they can decide for themselves to pay ridiculous prices. F uck the owners and their greediness. They are already making millions each season on top of whatever other income they have outside of football that allowed them to buy a team in the first place. Step one to leveling off prices and keeping them reasonable is telling the owners we won't pay them.

3 or 4 players do not speak for the entire collection of them. Funny you attempt to criticize my stance while condemning the very side that you stand on.

The owners and the NFL execs are the ones "pussifying" this game. Not the players, alot of which have spoke out against all the "pussifying" of the game.

Quite frankly, I don't give two shits about either sides. Both make money, both are being greedy, both are pussifying the game in one way or another. I want it solved so the fans don't miss out on football.

Now, would I rather it be Romo throwing to Bryant or Austin next season? Of course,

But, if it ain't and that suckass union rep puke Smith and the moron Goodell keep this shit up? **** em, find other players.

Prices were outrageous and beyone bullshit before, now, they are gonna be worse.

How exactly are the players pussifying the league.. in your view?

Pussifying the league isn't the fault of the players. It's the owners/coaches/piece of shit commish.

If there's one thing we can all agree on, I think it would be that the game we watch now isn't the game we fell in love with as kids. Every year it's a tweak of this and a new rule that waters the game down.

I swear, if a rival league was to start up where the rules were oldschool and it was about the game, not gimmick, I'd probably start watching that league.

We all know that has less than a 1% chance of happening, but I dream about shit like that. Where a DB can knock the shit out of a WR going over the middle to keep him from catching the ball. Or where you can actually touch a QB.
