I've noticed you make alot of misinformed, unfounded, and just plain stupid statements. Like "most fans will watch."

Some may watch, but i bet merchandise sales go way down, sunday ticket sales go way down, ticket sales go way down, etc..

I don't root for greedy lying owners and a hypocritical league executive board who want me to feel sorry for them because they're "losing money", even though they don't want to show any proof of that.

Yes. I'm making stupid misinformed comments when I say the league will be fine, still at the top of the sports world and that nearly all the current players will flock back to the league when they see they're moving on without them.

You originally came here laughing at those supporting the owners. Since being challenged, you've provided nothing to make anyone think differently. You keep referring to nonsense like owners opting out of the CBA. Which is their right.

They don't want to show proof? What business owner does open the books for the workers? Who the flying F do these pissant players think they are?

F them.

There is no NFL without the owners. We need these owners. Players come and go. Who's going to pay the poor players if these billionaires aren't around?

We'll all see who's in charge before this thing is over. The players have nothing on the owners.

Well, I agree with that. It won't. They'll come to an agreement sometime in the summer, if the courts allow the lockout. If the courts block it, the league year starts in a couple of weeks.

The NHL owners to name one. And the players, i would assume, think that they are the entire reason that the NFL is as popular as it is today. They produce the product that we all love and enjoy. Fat old owners arn't part of what makes the sport so popular and so profitable.

Someone said that there is no NFL without the owners. Well, no kidding.. there is no NFL without the players either, if we're going by that logic. The same could be said for any sport, and that's why we have players unions and CBA's. Professional sports wouldn't be the same draw without the top athletes from around the world participating. If you canned all the NBA players and brought in famous street ballers it just wouldn't be the same product. You're kidding yourself if you think replacement players would be a practical solution.

Anyone willing to spend the same money to watch replacements is a moron.

Anyone who thinks it would stay that way for a significant period of time is a bigger moron.

Probably the level of moron it takes to enjoy soccer.

There's no league without players. But that doesn't mean it has to be these players. The league can survive without missing a beat moving on without them.

You don't follow the sport to watch this guy vs. that guy. You watch to see the Dallas Cowboys vs. the Washington Redskins.

Players have no leverage.

You might want to go back and look up the TV ratings and actual attendence of the scab games in 1987 then.

And that lasted long.

The NFL does not have to negotiate with these irrelevant players. They simply need to decide to move on without them. Within two years time, there will be no difference in the league. From quality of play to TV ratings.

It would take a long time for the quality of play to get built back up, simply because you'd be starting from scratch. Eventually the ratings would probably return, but it'd be several seasons and drafts before a quality product was back on the field.

The current players would flock back to the NFL in large numbers. It would be their only option. In two years time, you wouldn't know the difference.

And the NFLPA would go down in flames.

I'm all for it. I'd sign up for scabs yesterday.

lol.

But, you agree with overpaid babies playing a kids game and some players that have even brought out the slavery card while cashing millions.

Brilliant.

Oh, I know, I know. "not all of the players make millions".. Waa Waa, what's the league minimum? 375k a year? Save it.

Good, I do hope sales go down. Maybe I won't have to refinance my damn house just to take my son to a ball game.

With the way they are pussifying this game with all these nonsense rules, the NFL itself will be killing this sport anyhow. So, if they have the scabs, not the Brady's, Manning's, Fitz's, etc, Maybe the game will return to what it should be.

And that's what it comes down to. I don't care about the owners or the players. I'm only concerned with the prices we have to pay. So naturally I want the owners' operating cost to be as little as possible. That doesn't happen if the players get what they want.

I've said this a few times in this thread and I'll say it again, I don't give a shit what business your in, any employee that demands to see any owners business books and wants 50% of revenue is being greedy, especially in professional sports.

Did these players purchase these teams? No, If it weren't for these owners some of these players would be making average salaries where they wouldn't dare to ask the owners to open up the books. Not every player has a backup plan if football is out of their life. So they need to remember where they came from.

I know professional sports is a little different because they make more money, but it's basically the same scenario. I just feel it's the owners right to allow an employee certain amounts of revenue not someone else who tells the owner what to pay them. No wonder why the owners locked out the players, who wouldn't.

These owners need to stand firm on their current offer, because professional sports is becoming a joke with all this over paying athletes. I don't think the NFL should follow suit with the NBA's and others who pay 57% or more of revenues, it's ridiculous. Yes, they deserved to be paid good money, but they have no right to think they need 50% or more on revenues. Like it's been mentioned in this thread before if the players get what they want, the owners will continue to up prices and it gets harder on us fans.

3 or 4 players do not speak for the entire collection of them. Funny you attempt to criticize my stance while condemning the very side that you stand on.

The owners and the NFL execs are the ones "pussifying" this game. Not the players, alot of which have spoke out against all the "pussifying" of the game.

You can keep saying it all you want, but the fact is that in almost every professional league there is the players get at least 50 percent of the revenue. Its not greedy at all.. and the NFL players arn't asking for more. They're actually willing to take less than what the owners originally agreed to give them, before they backed out of their agreement.

As for the prices that you all keep rabble rousing over.. they will continue to go up just as long as people are still willing to pay them, as is the same for any market.
