Yeah.

God really gives a flying fuck about the super bowl winner every year.

dude, you must be drunk

Nope.

Stuck in reality.

If we are close because we almost beat them, buffalo must be closer.

It makes the silly analogy, well silly.

We have a long road back to being a good team, at least two off seasons worth of good moves.

mediocre, just like everyone else

we easily could have won the division this year, with a subpar OL, a below average pass rush and a secondary that resembled swiss cheese...some of you need to quit acting like we are eons away from competing...we have alot of good pieces here in place

We weren't anywhere close to being a SB team this year. But keep dreaming and pumping Jerry's B.S. for us.

We have at least 11 holes.
1. LOLB
2. FS
3. CB
4. LG
5. C
6. LDE
7. RDE
8. RG
9. 3rd WR
10. reserve ILB
11. reserve CB

in another off-season, you can add the other CB spot, 2nd RB, and possibly TE to that list.

Mike Jenkins and Felix Jones are in the last year of their deals and Witten is starting to lose a step.

I hope Jerry watched the trophy presentation and dropped dead. If anyone in Texas hears anything post it the Cowboys Forum.

This was the first super bowl I turned off in a while before it ended.

Plus, I couldn't bare to watch the trophy presentation with that goofy bastard holding up another trophy.

I didnt say we were, I said we easily could have won the division.

Nobody thought the Giants were anywhere near a super bowl team on December 1st either. Dont act like you saw that coming.

Some of these "holes" might be filled from within. Hopefully at least one of the young OL (Kowalski or Arkin) fills one interior OL spot, hitting on both would be great but you would hope one for sure. I dont think both DE spots are "holes" as Jason Hatcher had a pretty good year. Kenyon Coleman definitely needs to be replaced, its possible Ratliff or Lissemore moves into the other DE spot. I think we have two of the top three CB spots filled within Jenkins and Scandrick. Also, the defensive side of the ball could be greatly upgraded by signing a DE like Mario Williams and moving to more of a 4-3 defense. You'd have two all pro calibar DE's in Ware and Williams, a probowl DT in Jay Ratliff, a potential probowl MLB in Sean Lee and Bruce Carter then gets to move back to his natural weak OLB spot. They'd need to find a strong OLB but you could do that with a lower tier free agent or maybe even a middle round draft pick.

dbair is such a useless fucking homer. You do realize they just beat Atlanta, Green Bay, San Francisco, and New England in 4 straight games? That is not mediocre and pretending the league is mediocre because you hate the team that won is just you being a complete dumbass. The Giants were better than us this year and proved it by winning head to head against us twice. The only reason we were in position to possibly win the division was because they had New Orleans and Green Bay on the schedule while we played Detroit and St Louis. You pretend the Giants were in the midst of another late season collapse when it was just a really hard stretch of schedule playing San Francisco, Philly, New Orleans, and Green Bay in 4 straight games.

I don't think the Giants are the best team in the NFL, but they are the best team right now and they are far better than we are.

Jerry said the biggest difference between the Cowboys and Giants was Eli Manning. As usual, Jerry couldn't be more worng. Tony Romo to Eli Manning might be our closest comparison.

Giants owners = class. Cowboys owner = P.T. Barnum
Giants Head Coach = Real discipline. Cowboys Head Coach = talks about discipline.
Giants players = mentally tough. Cowboys players = Find ways to lose.
Giants pass rush = Tuck, JPP, Osi, Kiwanuka, Canty. Cowboys pass rush = DeMarcus Ware or bust
Giants receiving corps = Deep. Cowboys receiving corps = no depth.
Giants Secondary = Webster, Ross, Thomas (injured), Prince Amukamara, Antrel Rolle, Kenny Phillips, and Deon Grant. Cowboys Secondary = Glaring weak spot.

I think those two are the real issues.

When it's all said and done, football really does come down to a either one or a couple of plays, inches, and seconds.

Coughlin, Reese, and much of the rest of the Giants' coaching staff would probably had been fired. People forget how they were a **** hair from this had they not made the playoffs. It's not like the Giants dominated any team onto their Super Bowl run, they just made less mistakes and were able to capitalize on other teams.

And looking over

Its hard to argue that Manning isnt some of the difference when the guy just won yet another Super Bowl.

Their pass rush is definitely better than ours.

Most of the rest of the stuff you said I wouldnt agree with. The Giants arnt elite. They are mediocre, and so is the league.

I don't know if this is due to Manning OR Gilbride, but when either of them find a weakness in a defense, they exploit it and continue to to exploit it until the opposing defense adjusts. See Newman, Reeves, and Roy Williams (safety).

We do not do this. We have not done this consistantly since with Parcells, (see Pete Hunter with the Seahawks). No matter how glaring the f -ucking weakness and blatantly obvious you should go at it, we have coaches that refuse to do it, because it's the obvious thing to do, and the HC cannot showcase his "genius" by doing the obvious or what is termed as being a no-brainer.

One thing about Manning... he's incredibly lucky.

That's not to discredit his ability. The guy is talented, and he's clearly got icewater in his veins.

But luck follows that guy around. He's got a horeshoe and a rabbits foot up his ass.

I didn't...so don't act like I acted like I saw it coming.

And yeah, I guess if we didn't choke again we could've won the division and then been bounced out rather quickly again.
