You guys want to start challenging teams deep and yet you want to start Matt Cassel?
Doesn't make any sense.
Doesn't make any sense.
Most of us knew we would lose today so I'm not gonna hit the panic button but we do need to tweak a few things.
Instead of dressing Whitehead we could be seeing what we have in Christine Michael.
I think it was totally the game plan to run everyone off deep and then hit Dunbar and Witten underneath, just like worked so well in the first half. If you look at Cleveland, there are plenty of highlights out there of Weeden throwing bombs to Gordon, so it's not that he can't or won't go deep. Our coaches wanted him to be a good old fashioned Parcells bus driver and not lose it. Problem is they never adjusted when the Falcons started looking for the underneath stuff.
And the real problem was our defense putting someone named Davonta Freeman in Canton.
This would suit Vaughan perfectly - this offense is what he ran when he was the Harlan Hill trophy runner-up.You know, this is counter to our power running offense from last year, but I wonder if they might consider doing what they did at Okie State and just put him in the gun in the spread and let him find the open guy. Just snap it and let him get the ball out of his hand quickly. Same type offense that suits Randle, too -- he was very productive in that in college.
I think it would be worth a try at least if other teams start stacking the run again where they simply outnumber us in the box.
dominating and then folding.
My thoughts during the broadcast:
Pregame:Well,if Howdy's going to show off his coaching skills, this would be the game.
1st Qtr:Hey now,this is all right.
2nd Qtr:Too bad they got that last second FG,glad they didn't get six.
3rd Qtr:Well,I didn't think we'd hold Jones in check all game.
4th Qtr:Off-air,drunken stupor.
