What's to disagree with?
Parcells in his 60's was turning downtrodden teams around to playoff contenders. Landry in his 60's was running his franchise straight into the dirt to the tune of the first overall pick in the draft.
He was fired. I'm not making this up. He had to go before the Cowboys got better.
Just like Parcells HAD TO GO before the Cowboys got better... AND THEY DID.
I disagree with you on Parcells' ability to win games. He didn't have this team today. He had a young developing team without a franchise QB. He won as much as I could expect anyone to win with those teams. He didn't stick around long enough to win big.
But listen to yourself. If Parcells was all of that, then he shouldn't have NEEDED the team thatit is today. His "superior" coaching would have been enough.
The Cowboys fucking won the division in Wade's first year.
As for the "young developing team"....the average age of Parcells' team in his last year was 28 on offense and 26 on defense---hardly a young team. In fact, in Wade's FIRST YEAR, the average age of the offense was...28 and on defense... 26. The SAME. And yet in Wade;s first year, the Cowboys won the division.
And did Romo become a franchise QB in one offseason? How long was Romo on the team right under Parcells' nose to where he didn't recognize Romo being a franchise QB? Apparently, you're just ADMITTING that Romo developed into this franchise QB, outside of Parcells influence. Imagine that.
All you have to know is this. Wade Phillips, a loser at every stop in his career, won a playoff game with this team.
And what do you think Parcells was here? And what has Parcells been WITHOUT Belicek? Yes, Wade's won a playoff game with the Cowboys in addition to TWO DIVISION TITLES. Far more than what Parcells has done.
Certainly Parcells would have done that and more.
BUT HE DIDN'T. But continue to slurp on Parcells' schlong. It's a wonder if the guy can even take a piss, due to it shriveling up from your sucking. I can only imagine what this Oline would have been like with Petitti, E.J. Whitley, Peterman, Rogers, Marten. etc.
He's an infinitely better coach than Phillips.
Not for the Cowboys.
