Not going to happen. The Cowboys' run ends this Sunday at Lambeau. This is where the fix will really be in.

The league wants a storyline that features all four previous Super Bowl-winning QBs: Wilson, Rodgers, Manning, and Brady. The Legends Bowl (Brady vs. Mannng) and the Legends In The Making Bowl (Wilson vs. Rodgers).

And then you will have all the sub-plots:

1.) After losing twice in Seattle, will the third time be the charm for Rodgers and the Packers?

2.) Will Manning and the Broncos get revenge against Brady and the Patriots?

3.) With it culminating a showdown between the Patriots and Packers, with them f course heavily referring back to the ealrier regular season game between the two teams with the Packers winning.

Romo hoisting the trophy and shoving it up his critics' collective asshole's
But he won't be pretending the "critics" didn't have a point.

He talks about all the changes he's made, how he is a different player now. And most of what he's changed are exactly some of the stuff the "critics" have bemoaned. Like, really dumb decisions at critical times with the ball for example.

My main gripes about him have all been changed as well. No more do we see him going yuk-yuk on the sidelines during a game where we are losing or playing poorly - it is visually evident he takes the game much more seriously now than ever. Even such small stuff I have griped about, like him unbuckling his chinstrap after every play - gone. He said in the post game interview last week for him it is all about POISE now. He admits this is a big change. And it is. It is evident in everything he does now.

Unlike most Romo fans - which are basically cheerleaders and hero worshipers who wouldn't dare have a critical thought one about him - I give Tony himself alot more credit for his performance the last two years than I do the sudden concentration on the running plays, and the acquisition of three first round picks on the offensive line. No, Tony's done this himself. He changed. He says so. He said he would change, he said he would be better and I believe him. Perhaps some of it came from listening to the "critics?"

It takes a hell of a man to change and he did it. And as I've said before, I live for the day he hoists the Lombardi trophy. Because he's worked for it, has earned it. He deserves it.

He is a much better quarterback today than he was the rest of his career, there's no disputing that. He says it himself. Proves it every day. And it is because he changed. Not because he kept doing all the same things he used to do while expecting better results.

Romo has been ridiculed nationally. There have been times when his name has been used as a punchline.

It would be outstanding to see him win the big one. He's worked hard and paid his dues, no doubt.

He says a lot of things, if you really want to know what he's saying, he's saying that the defense isn't terrible anymore, the offensive line is actually good now, and he doesn't have to be superman on every play, he doesn't have to be perfect at the end of every game to give his team a chance.

Media narrative, or whatever you want to call it, it's been lazy. It's always been easy for fans and douchebag ESPN anchors to say, "oh boy, Tony Romo strikes again."

Lazy. Ignorant. Take Peyton Manning for comparison. He's lost his first playoff game 8 times over his career. One and done. The one year in Indy that they won, was he a different QB that one year? Fuck no. His defense was able to stop the run and get teams off the field consistently that year. He had a good team around him.

This isn't necessarily directed at you. It's just extremely frustrating. I've been hoping the offensive line would be repaired since the end of 2009, the QB was worth giving him a pocket to operate in. The defense was next on my list, and while it hasn't been upgraded with talent, The DC and his staff have them playing good enough ball.

The frustrating part is seeing a top flight QB operate and carry a team for years, then he gets the proper pieces around him, now he's a different guy? He's the same guy he's always been, he's just not having to compensate for shortcomings in different areas of the team.

Good of players don't win playoff games, good teams do. He has a really good group around him this year, not just weapons.

The Packers are slightly better than the Cowboys, but not by much. Its a winnable game. I just want the game to be close enough for the Cowboys to have a chance to win it at the end.

I dont believe in "fixes". If i did, i wouldnt watch football anymore.

We all have Dooms to thank for Romo becoming a better player, a better man, and a better father...

Coaching. Definitely. The rest... not so much. About even, maybe they are better in some areas and we are better in others.

But.... I've never seen him say anything like, any of this.

He keeps talking about how he's improved himself. And he has, it's indisputable.

People who want to credit everything else except Tony himself, merely wish to continue their defend Tony narrative of blaming all but, Tony. And that does him a disservice. So we see this happening in the sports media right now, they're saying Tony looks better because of running the ball, better O-Line, better defense. They don't want to give Tony ANY credit for the changes to his own game, he HAS made.
He's the same guy he's always been, he's just not having to compensate for shortcomings in different areas of the team.
He is NOT the same guy. He's even said that. And it's obvious he is not. His entire approach to the game is much more serious now, much more intense - and he has much more poise.

The improvement we see is HIM. HE did it. He for whatever reason looked at himself and didn't like alot of what he saw and CHANGED it.

And it takes a hell of a man to do that.

My point is he's been capable of playing like this all along. Having a team that has his back, it allows for a safer approach, less risk necessary.

So yes, he's changed his approach. I agree.

I don't agree that he's a different QB at 34.

I dont think Romo had a sudden paradigm shift. I think he has made a goal to improve himself each season. I think Tony has always been a great QB.

He's been capable of it, for sure. But for whatever reason, he's matured. He takes it more seriously now. No more yuk-yuk and pallying around. No more super bonehead decisions.

In the AP writeup of the Detroit win, Tony cites the Minnesota playoff game in 2009 as how the old Tony just gave other teams, games. Made impetuous bad decisions that fed the opponent, points. And that's been his career up to this point. In that game he lost two fumbles and threw a pick, all of which led to Viking points.

My belief? His hurt back gave him significant time on his hands for the first time in his career as a starter, and with that luxury he went into retrospect. And with help from a Linehan or someone else, took a hard look at his own habits and got rid of the bad ones for the most part. HE did it, himself and I give him ALL the credit for his improvement.

I maintain that had he done this years ago he's probably already hoisted a Lombardi or two. And I bet he would agree with that.

A win vs Green Bay would be the Cowboy's biggest win since Switzer's "we did it our way, baby" Super Bowl win.

Look further back than the mid-90's, though, and the competition is very tough.

I agree :like

Which, we find out later from Emmitt, Troy and Michael, that actually the players decided to go back to doing it Jimmy's way that year.

Switzer "coaching" the Cowboys was the most ill feeling I ever had about this team. Just sickening.

I rank this last win over Detroit above SB 30.
