Because I lost my faith that Romo, on the Cowboys, would win the Super Bowl. I think Romo can find bigger success on a different team.

yea like a romo for a first Rounder from the jets or cards a couple years ago would've been 100% best for everyone. I agree.

Here's the thing...Romo's lost some games because of his mistakes - no debate there; I'll even include the Bobble even though it was non-QB.

However, the team (coaching staff included) has lost more games than Romo, but the blame mostly falls on Romo.

I construed it as he threw a gamebreaking INT in that game.
That's perfectly understandable, since it happens so often.

Because he is the face of the franchise. And no doubt he will also reap most of the credit for future success, as he does now.

Like I said earlier, there's never anyone ever, saying the opposing defense sucks because Romo hung a 400 yard passing day on them.

Romo:
2012, Week 17 at Washington. Last drive INT.
2012, Week 8 vs NYG. Too many INTs.
2012, Week 4 vs Chicago. Too many INTs
2011, Week 1 at NYJ. Three turnovers
2008, Week 14 at Pittsburgh. Pick 6
2006, The Bobble. Even though the game was lost by attempting the FG. Should've gone for it on 4th.
2008, Week 16 vs Baltimore to close out Texas Stadium (shared). Romo throws 2 stupid picks, but defense lets two 80 yard TD runs to close out game.

The Team:
2013, Week 14 at Chicago. Defense lets Josh McCown fuck us up. Zero Romo INTs
2013, Week 15 vs GB. Although Romo throws the last INT, no way should GB have been able to comeback from 20+ halftime lead, especially with Matt Flynn at QB
2012, Week 8 vs Detroit. Defense lets Stafford QB sneak for the win after driving 80 yards in 40 seconds or some shit
2012, Week 6 at Baltimore. WR fumbles ball going into end zone and Garrett freezes Dan Bailey or some shit.
2012, Thanksgiving vs Wash. Defense lets RG III blow up for a 28-3 halftime lead.
2011, Week 4 vs Detroit. Although Romo throws pick 6 to Bobby Carpenter, why the hell were we passing in the first place?
2011, Week 13 at Arizona. Garrett freezes Dan Bailey. Missed FG and we lose in OT.
2011, Week 14 vs NYG. "Lost in Lights" game. Defense helpless against Eli, allowing 2 long TD drives to end the game and JPP blocking FG at end of game.
2010, Week 1 at Wash. Alex Barron with his holding penalty to nullify the TD pass to Roy Williams
2010, Thanksgiving vs NO. Roy Williams fumbles the ball running into the end zone and Drew Brees drives length of field in 1 minute for TD.
2009, Playoffs at Minnesota. Defense never gave us a chance.
2008, Week 6 at Arizona. OT blocked punt for TD.
2008, Week 16 vs Baltimore to close out Texas Stadium (shared). Romo throws 2 stupid picks, but defense lets two 80 yard TD runs to close out game.
2008, Week 17 at Philly. Defense never gave us a chance.
2007, Playoffs vs NYG. Defense chokes at end of half, Leonard Davis' penalty and Crayton giving up on pass in end zone.
2006, Week 9 at Washington. Romo gets team into position for GW FG. FG blocked by Sean Taylor, facemask penalty on the return gives one play at 00:00 and 15 yard penalty so ex-Cowboys Nick Novak can kick 50yard GW FG.

It was TWO pick sixes.

Had help from Romo turnovers and a abysmal 3/13 on third down.

Every game you name where the "team" loses the game has the same things - terrible 3rd down conversion rate and at least one turnover. You expect defenses with today's restraining rules to just stop them over and over.

BECAUSE THAT DEFENSE DOESN'T DO IT EVERY WEEK
When you see something every week, it stops being special. In the 1970s, there were five 400-yard passing games for the entire decade. When Joe Namath topped 400 passing yards, he had done something really great. When Eli Manning went for 450 in a loss to the Cowboys, it sure didn’t feel like a great game.

Terry Bradshaw, Roger Staubach and Bart Starr are among the Hall of Fame quarterbacks who never passed for 400 yards in a game. Matthew Stafford is only 25 years old and has already done it five times.

What has changed? The primary difference is the rules: Quarterbacks are protected from hits. Wide receivers are protected from hits. Pass interference, illegal contact and defensive holding are called much more stringently.

The defenses are robbed of their claws and teeth league wide. Allowing the Romos of the world to look great.

In both of these games, we had huge halftime leads. Garrett continued to pass, pass, pass and that's why I attributed the loss to the team. I agree that Romo is partly to blame, though.

Holy shit. I've heard it all now.
213 so far, for minus 1,422 yards. That's eight seasons starting, regular season.

Whereas Troy was sacked 259 times total, in 12 seasons.

My statement stands. It was: "Romo takes ALOT of sacks, it's not like he's really that much more adroit at avoiding them as Troy was."

He's only got 47 to go, to beat that Aikman stat too. On track to do it in only 20 more games.

OTOH, you could make the case that the only reason he doesn't already hold the record is because of his Houdini-like escapability. Had Troy or someone like Bledsoe played the exact same games behind the exact same o-linemen, the sack totals would be astronomical.

How many pass attempts? If Aikman Avg. 20/game and Romo 30/gm that would mean by now 8yrs vs. 12 yrs. they've dropped back same number of times. that would mean Romo is sacked behind a worse OL 20% less than Troy right?

No doubt the pretty much hands-off QB rules of today have helped Romo immensely. Troy got obliterated his first couple of years and that's when he could still move.

that's pretty easy to look up

Romo gets sacked like once per 17 attempts, Troy got sacked like once per 18 attempts.
