13) People thought the potential lockout would limit coaching changes, but I never really did. Now its almost a given that John Fox, Gary Kubiak, Mike Singletary & Marvin Lewis will get the ax. Eric Mangini and Jeff Fisher have a good chance of being cut loose. The Vikes and Cowboys already have HC openings. Tony Sparano might get the ax too. That'd be 9 openings league-wide if they all panned out, or almost 1/3 of the league.

Let's run down your list of candidates who might get (or have gotten) fired:

Philips - lots of prior experience
Childress - No prior experience
Mangini - prior experience
Fox - No prior experience
Fisher - No prior experience
Sparano - No prior experience
Kubiak - No prior experience
Lewis - No prior experience
Singletary - No prior experience
Denver guy - No prior experience

Yeah, a guy with no head coaching experience really seems like the way to go!

That Denver guy was Josh McDaniels and he was talked highly about the same time Garrett was.

That very well could happen to Garrett here also if he were to coach here next year.

I'm getting tired of Anthony Spencer always getting sucked inside. Playaction, or a simple run, it doesn't matter, he's always getting fooled badly.

BTW dbair, quit pointing to just the defensive coaches. 3/4ths of the D is terrible.

I don't know about you guys, but I want to stay as far away as possible from proven losers like Wade Phillips.

Its alot of things, but coaching is the biggest issue right now. That and Spencer absolutely disappearing.

People were hyping him only because of his connection to Belicek. The difference IS we saw what Garrett had done as an interim HC.

McDaniels started out in Denver 5-1 or something like that. So really Garrett hasn't shown anything that McDaniels didn't his first half of a season.

But, to be fair, Garrett did it with no offseason and someone else's defensive staff.

And not a single play from his probowl QB. Then lost their best WR for the final month of the season.
